I have been going here for years. Excellent service and wonderful staff. It feels like a proper family business. The people who work here are so lovely and helpful. Can't recommend them enough.

From Maurice McDougall.Thank you for your response, but may I ask, is it standard practice for Wheatcroft to enquire whether or not a 'patient' will be purchasing their spectacles from that practice before a decision is made to make an appointment? that was the first question I was asked, following the checking of my file ?

I wouldnt recommend this opticans as they put you on hold for five minutes and then put the phone down without even ringing you back very ignorant receptionist .

Tried to make an appointment today 28 October 2022, for an eye test, my appointment was declined because, I wasn't going to purchase Wheatcroft spectacles. My wife and I have been using Wheatcroft for about 4 years. I did suggest Wheatcroft could supply the Lenses, for my own frame. Unfortunately Wheatcroft selection of men's spectacles aren't suitable for me. They suggested I went to another Optician. The Lenses I required are a Super thin 1.74 lense with anti reflect etc, and Transition lenses, the cost would have been between £275.00 and £375.00. The person on the phone didn't bother to ask.

Three pairs of glasses from wheatcroft since last April, all which have now snapped, cheap flimsy plastic. Never had this issue with my previous glasses from a different opticians. Won't be returning, shame as the optician himself is lovely.

I have dealt with Wheatcroft's for a few years now. I usually see Alan Shepherdson who is absolutely first class. Friendly, helpful and extremely good with explanations and information. The reception staff are always cheerful and extremely helpful. Highly recommended
