A wonderful atmospheric place, steeped in history. The walk around the headland, crossing a couple of remote sandy beaches and observing the lovely wild flowers and Orchids makes if a worthwhile and memorable visit. Don't forget to check the tide times and to purchase your park ticket. Several cafes, pub's etc for food and drinks. Enjoy you visit.

This is a stunning island,on 8th June 793 the Vikings raided the monastery here starting the viking raids on Britain. It's now a peaceful retreat of great beauty with fantastic views towards bamburg castle. Well worth a visit.

Very busy even out of high season castle was small inside for the bit you have access to, the priory looked nice from the outside didn’t go in as another entrance fee quite pricy, we did see around 100 seals in the bay.

Although very popular there are plenty of quiet stretches of beach away from the town and Castle. Plenty of parking and places to eat, toilets in the coach park are portable loos but these where clean and tidy when we visited. Some really nice views out over the causeway and the Castle, worth a visit even when busy.
