Sam's Larder

Great coffee. Nice staff. I think the owner could be a bit more considerate and place two staff in the shop rather than leaving one person to run everything, make coffees and clean. Seems a bit unfair and you can tell they are quite stressed.

It's still rather in the middle of a building site, with the Brentford Project being finished off around it. You get to it either via The Ham or go past St Lawrence Church on Augustus Close then turn left down the little alley. The coffee shop (which is due to become a deli and maybe a flower shop as well) is behind (North of) the newly occupied Hollandbury House. Soon you will be able to walk down to it from the High Street, opposite Market Place. Inside it's nicely furnished and the flat whites are really good. The staff have always been efficient and friendly and you can bring your dog too.

I only discovered this coffee place today, thanks to the new path from the High Street. Anyway a lovely little shop, great coffee and pastries, highly recommended. They need to start doing sandwiches!

A bit disappointing really. No-one was in the shop when I arrived so I had to sit and wait. When I was finally served the person behind the counter wasn’t at all friendly, hardly said a word and made a very average black coffee. We’d travelled a few miles to try out the place but can’t in all honesty recommend it. It sounds and feels like you are on a building site and isn’t up to the normal excellent ‘Sam’s’ standards.

Always good quality drinks and probably the best chocolate croissants I've ever had. Every eighth hot drink is free, so ends up being pretty decent value.

It’s a shame that Sam’s Larder at the Brentford project has limited offerings if you go there expecting to find something wholesome to eat. The only choice is between some cake slices and a small selection of pastries. It appears that there is no kitchen or food preparation area which explains the lack of choice.The premises is situated within the new Brentford project and when we visited found it occupied by a lot of workers in high vis jackets. Not an issue but you do feel like you’re in a high class greasy spoon cafe without the full English breakfasts!If you’re looking for prepared ingredients to take home then there is plenty on offer but I doubt the popularity (it’s the only ‘cafe’ that is currently open) will last once Pret opens along with other high street brands that offer more than just cake.I like the independent quality of the eateries that Sam has brought to West London but just wish there was a better choice of food at the Larder.

My first time visiting the Brentford project so I thought my Mum and I would pay Sam’s a visit. The service needs a real shake up. The 2 members of staff there were miserable and rude. Also, very disappointed with the lack of alternative milk- they only do Oat milk.I’m addition, the croissants/ sandwiches and cakes are on the counter, uncovered- not the level of hygiene one expects anywhere. Coffee quality ok but I wouldn’t recommend, nor would I return.

The arrival of Sam's Larder in Brentford - and the upcoming arrival of Sam's Waterside Restaurant on the Ballymore Development - brought the widest of smiles to our faces ;-) We have long been admirers of Sam's brand and visions of hospitality - from the erstwhile Sam's Brasserie in Chiswick and Harrison's in Balham to the magnificent Sam's Riverside overlooking the Thames at Hammersmith and, now, Sam's Kitchen. The creation of the Larder in Hammersmith was an inspired decision driven by the constraints of lock-downs to provide ongoing employment for some of the staff from Riverside. Sam's Larder on Turnham Green Terrace is a vibrant location for coffee and light meals.Sam's Larder in Brentford provides a wonderful foretaste of what is to come in this corner of West London. As it stands, the Larder shares the space with Ballymore's Concierge Desk but the essence of Sam's vision is apparent in terms of beautiful marble counters and the decor which is consistent across all of his properties.Providing a toehold on Ballymore's development, Sam's Larder is set in the middle of a major construction site but that should not deter anybody from searching out the very best coffee around and enjoying the fabulously personable service provided by Eileen and Manjola.Brentford is incredibly fortunate to be part of Sam's vision for hospitality..... We can't wait to see the butterfly emerge from its chrysalis ;-)

Popped into Sam’s for a warm drink and a treat. Was really excited to try a local business, but was a little disappointed with what we got.We ordered a slice of banana bread which was dry and cold. The two drinks we ordered too were milky and warm. A little disappointing as it looks like such a great place.Not sure I’d go back I’m afraid.

I have my latte every Saturday for the last 5 weeks and every time it is the same great taste. This place is a bit pricey, but worth it for the quality.
