A decent station in the Dulwich area, a rather hilly suburb of South London. Both platforms have step free access thanks to a footbridge with lifts. A ticket office is provided on the London bound platform and local buses stop nearby. One annoying thing is that on the southbound platform, the trains stop nowhere near the exit, waaaay too far down the platform.

Extremely rude staff. I was made to wit for 2 hours for a train home that should only take 30min and upon arrival at forest hill I had been maxed charged for the privilege. My oyster wouldn't let me through even though I had more than enough for my journey the staff were rude and didn't help me at all they told me to jump through the barriers with another passenger and then ignored me once I was through. I asked for a refund for the over charge that was made and the lady at the desk just turned off the intercom she was speaking through as though she was done with talking to me. This was at 5.34 on the 14,8,18 i am a very polite person but the staff at this station almost made me lose my head.

Mainline Station to Croydon and charing Cross. It has lifts wheel chair and pram access, which is fantastic and still unusual, I am afraid in this day and age, but a big positive.Forest Hill is a thriving middle-class hot spot with vegan eateries mixed with sainsbury's and super drug retail outlets and hippy chicky artist units around the back of the main high street.Horniman Museum is just up the hill and worth a visit.

for a national rail station it is lacking in everyway, no toilets whatsoever yet is served by trains without toilets onboard (irresponsible of London Overground who operate the station predominantly however TFL dont really like providing passengers with facilities as even though numerous Tube stations which are Ex-BR like the eastern end of the Central Line, they dont see it fit to provide toilets on their National Rail service routes like the Overground, either fit them to the trains or build them at every station

Although it has good connections...the trains runs so slow! Honestly the amount of money tfl charges the service is awful... cancellations and poor service...and yet the charges are through the roof! You miss your train over 30-40 mins wait times at times...If everything runs properly it's a 10 mins wait.Staff are not friendly or very helpful.

Nice new heated waiting room down the platform - also guards at the gate for most of the day. Good station.

I'm giving this station 4 stars & the only reason is for the regular train services on the London Overground to Highbury and Islington & West Croydon & the southern train services to London Bridge & East Croydon. You never have to wait long for a train here. This station also has two lifts and two entrances & exits on platform 1 & 2. Sadly the staff here are very lazy!!!! & unhelpful all they like to do is sit in the ticket office and gossip and use there phones. They never wanna help you and when you ask for help they seem to roll there eyes at you. Like I said this station gets 4 stars ONLY for the train services. If its for the staff they get zero ratings.

Changed a lot from when I first lived nearby. Many more shops, restaurants and businesses, and a Holliday Inn. Feels up and coming area.
