Rye Hill Golf Club

Good course. Greens had just been seeded and topped so we're running slow. The rest of the course was great except for the bunkers which were quite rough. Staff were lovely and the round was well priced..Will absolutely play again

Summary: Friendly staff, Long parkland course, a bit scruffy here and there, but overall brilliant value.We were welcomed with Bacon sandwiches, and coffees with good prompt service. The pro shop were relaxed and friendly. Good start.We teed up not expecting much, as some reviews have indicated poor greens and tee boxes etc. We were pleasantly surprised with the condition and beauty of the course, and were very happy with the price.Don’t get me wrong, the greens and tee boxes could have done with a bit of TLC, but absolutely playable for the average handicap golfer, for this price.The length of the course was very demanding, but open enough to spray some drives and not be penalised too harshly. I imagine if they grow the rough up and add wind it would be brutal.The one thing I did notice was the worm holes on the tees and surrounding areas, and the animal damage. It indicates a lack of pesticide investment, which some would argue is a good thing, I sit on the fence on that one, it just looks a bit scruffy!We had a great day, I am an 8 handicap, and it was good enough for me, I don’t see how anyone can really complain for the price.

Played my first ever game of golf on this course yesterday and course nice and well looked after. Unfortunately was overshadowed by rude staff member who would do anything in his power to prevent us from hiring a buggy. Weather was very hot and we didn't fancy carrying 3 heavy sets of club round the 18 holes. Understand that it was a busy day but despite asking 3 separate times throughout the day, the buggies were either 'not charged', 'not working' or 'none available' even though there were plenty waiting to be used, just round the corner, behind reception. Hiring a buggy is all part of the fun with golf, but when you have to beg to use one, even though we would have been charged £25, kind of ruined the day for us. Probably will not be returning and will be exploring other courses in the area, despite the nice views from the course.

Really enjoyed the course which was in pretty good condition given the weather. Paid £66 for a 2 ball and a buggy. Great value. The course is reasonably long for the average golfer without being ridiculous and a fair test. Super friendly staff too. Kitchen is closed on Monday and Tuesday so I can't comment on the catering. Like rye Hill good layout and value for money, it's a bit scruffy in places I guess they need more staff to cope but overall I like it, give it a go..

Value for money golf course with lovely views and just enough challenge. Though the course was in reasonable condition, the bunkers need a bit more love.

Possibly the worst golf course I've ever played !!!! Very untidy , fairways full of weeds, bunkers with no sand in, but plenty of stones. Greens were like putting on Jam, and £40 for the privilege. Not worth £5 a round, Avoid !!!!
