Winkles at the Ferry
Small cafe alongside the ferry and boat slipway. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. We had cod and haddock plus chips and mushy peas. As good as we have had in truth. Light batter, beautiful fresh fish and perfectly cooked chips, Decent prices and excellent staff too. Many thanks!

Lovely little cafe in a lovely spot. Very busy this lunchtime so considering how far out of the town it is speaks volumes.

Always a warm welcome.A lovely place to watch the boys and ferry go around on the water.Dogs are allowed outside which makes it a nice place for food and drink after a nice walk on the front.Food is always good and a fair price for the location.

Found this place by total accident. Very pretty setting with a balcony overlooking the estuary. So you can eat your food with a picture perfect view. Good choice of food. I had the crab sandwich which was very fresh and tasty. Staff were also very friendly. Only minus is parking. This is available using the car park up the road. But at a rather expensive £1.90 for just 1 hour.

Winkles at the Ferry is a great little cafe overlooking the river Deben in Felixstowe. It has plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the river, and also some indoor tables too. I ordered fish and chips when I visited and these were nice and fresh, and well priced for the quality. There is parking, public toilets and lots of different walks nearby, so it makes a good start or end point if you're exploring the area. Overall it's a great stop for something quick to eat if exploring the area.

Glorified Shipping ContainerHave you ever been to one of those dodgy Roadside Burger vans? Usually made out of an old lorry body or freight container?I guess this is a bit like that, very slightly more up market on the face of it tho.Interior decor is Post Modern Shipping Container, with greasy spoon come rotten fish ambience .... Very eclectic if you were being kind.If the place wasn't perched on the beach you really wouldn't give it a second look. From memory & council planning records, this was historically only supposed to be a waiting room for the foot ferry.Seems like a bit of opportune money making by the owner to me, we've lost the quaint old waiting room (public service) for a smelly greasy spoon shipping container just to line their pockets.Says something about people that.Food not bad, although VERY pricey for a roadside burger van.Staff pleasant enough, but wish they'd wash their hands sometimes though. In short, it's an overpriced burger van making out it's something it's not, but charging as if it was......it's like paying Gordan Ramsay prices for a McDonalds. If being overcharged for something you just aren't getting sits well with you, - fill your boots.Looking at the 'Independent reviews"
