Picturehouse Apartments

We booked the penthouse for a surprise party.Got told on the day that only 10 people could enter the room (which should of been stated before booking).Tried to change the names on our guest list and got told we couldn’t so some people had to unfortunately go home.Room cost just short of a grand and in the end they wouldn’t let us in (with no refund)Woman on front desk thought she worked for Merseyside police and had the attitude of a bouncer in concert square.Just save your money and take this advice, book somewhere better and with genuine customer service.

5 ladies in there 60s booked a weekend here.On first look was ok till got cups out to make a cuppa they wereAlso filthy.Apartment overall very unkempt.Informed members of staff regarding strong smell of cannabis which was coming from room below.led to 2 of the group not be able to sleep in bedroom,so ended having to sleep on sofas.Also the constant noise from floor boards from above apartmentWe paid over ,£60 per night per personWhen spoke to staff wernt interestedComplaint sent to booking .com who we booked throughAVOID

Good location, just an Uber ride from the town and the reception can book taxis too! The room itself was not cleaned properly prior to our arrival and the floorboards are very loud. I didn’t find any noise though at night which was a plus after seeing the reviews. We had an apartment for 7 but the pull out bed did not work and we had to sleep on an angle. Although we informed staff asap and they attended to our needs and they were helpful. Suitable for a big group but definitely not the cleanest

Just checked out of the Picture House, had the best time. Don’t know why there are bad reviews, the staff are so helpful the rooms are in the process of being upgraded will definitely stay again

Loved my time at the picture house stayed many of times over the years rooms are clean spacious and home from home staff always welcoming and go above and beyond to help 5 mins on bus or car into the city centre and 24 hour reception would definitely recommend this place can't wait to stay again in July

Worst night sleep ever.I wasn't expecting luxury but at least have decent mattresses!We could feel every spring!Really noisy from traffic even with double glazed windows.The living area was freezing, one tiny little electric heater which was fighting a losing battle.It did have all the utensils and things you need. Unless you happened to need the washing machine, which doesn't have a door.The floors creak and you can hear everyone else moving around.Really think it needs some good quality maintenance doing, lots of little things look like they've been fixed in a hurry.It's a good sized space and we did manage to get a parking space but that's about all that positives.Special mention to whoever was smoking skunk out of a nearby window. We could smell it even with the windows closed.

Absolutely appalling! Don't waste your money! Place has damp, broken blinds, no smoke alarm. So much noise, the place is Absolutely filthy and not cleaned properly. Bits of confetti on the floor, along with someone's eyelashes! Clearly shows the place hasn't been cleaned well.. staff were not apologetic and didn't care! We were promised a balcony room via email and over the phone but were not given one and reception has no reason why and were not willing to make any changes or offer any compensation for it. They simply don't care and their apartments are absolutely disgusting. No ironing board, the place doesn't look like the images so don't get deceived!

Lovely spacious apartments. Looks like some work had been getting done but it's to be expected to keep on top of things. Staff were very friendly and helped us booked taxis throughout our stay

The rooms were fantastic and the staff extremely helpful. Can't wait to book again next time we're over.
