The allotment box is a brilliant veg shop and deli.Wonderful friendly owners with delicious, fresh, irresistible food for sale. It's a bold and timely business model, where groceries are regionally sourced and trades are made with local allotment holders, enabling public access to locally grown, organic food.'Food miles' is a problem for the environment because so much of what is stocked in supermarkets is imported from abroad. Not to mention: pesticides, genetic modification, chlorine gas, irradiation, chemical washing and unfair trading.Because of the rising fuel prices, food imported from 'developing world' countries is becoming more expensive and those perceived savings, when measured against local produce are reducing.A fab opportunity to buy local, with all the benefits of brilliant flavour and more verities of veg. It feels good to eat seasonal and local from a place like this.

Fresh fruit and veg, good prices. The lady serving is lovely, friendly and very helpful.

I come here almost every week, the owners are super lovely and friendly and the produce lasts much longer than supermarket products which is why I shop here as well as supporting local businesses - highly recommend
