In 1954 I joined as a cub. I worked my way up to senior sixer and had the honour of carrying the flag at The StGeorges day parade. I remember my first ever camping trip to Birch Vale. We had to wash in cold water in the barn. The sausages tasted amazing and every night we had a mug of cocoa. It was one of the most happy times of my childhood. We used to have hotpot suppers sometime at the Den. I went up into the scouts fora short while before we moved and left the area. The pressures of homework meant that scouting had to goby the board. However I would recommend it to any child and parents. Great character builder.

Amazing hut and friendly Scouters. Really great bunch of people and a great valued service to the community.

Local Scout group with indoor and outdoor activities for boys and girls from ages 6 to 14 1/2. Friendly, enthusiastic leaders who are trained and police checked make everyone welcome.
