Great company to go to if you are looking to replace a kitchen or bathroom. Very attentive from first contact - came when they said for site visit, estimate came quickly and then really good visit to showroom to make choices of bathroom items.

We had our kitchen done last year by Create Studio and they did an excellent job. We knew exactly how much we had to spend and the team really did create our dream kitchen. So happy with them that we have asked them to come back and do our bathroom and en suite later this year

In December 2015, I paid Barclay Erskine t/a Create to replace our family bathroom. The fit included a Matki shower, tray and screen.Soon after the job was completed, leaks occurred at both sides of the shower screen, which damaged the skirting boards. Barclay Erskine wouldn’t take responsibility for the problems and instead referred them to Matki. As a result, the Matki rep eventually came and re-sealed the enclosure. This resolved the leaks temporarily, but eventually they restarted. The damage now extended to the sub-floor, which expanded and damaged the tiled floor.Correspondence over the issues continued, for years, and at one point the Matki rep returned to remove and refit part of the screen with new parts. Still, leaks reoccurred and in 2019 I found mushrooms growing from the skirting boards. Since that time, we have barely used the shower - not at all in the last 18 months.This year I asked a plumber to inspect the shower and suggest a solution. He identified that the tray flexed when weighted, breaking the surrounding seal. He recommended replacing the shower and tray to cure the problems. However the minimum cost was estimated at £7500, partly because the original tiles were no longer available. Since there were also other problems with the original installation, including movement in the floor breaking up the floor tile grouting, I decided to replace the entire bathroom at a cost of nearly £12,000. It is 8 years since the first renovation - 8 years of leaks, headaches and failed fixes.On removal of the Matki shower tray, the reason for the problems became obvious. As you know, shower trays should be laid on a cement bed to provide support. Instead, our tray was balanced on a number of plastic spacers, then the void underneath was filled with expanding foam. The foam provided no support at all and the tray, supported only at one edge and on the plastic spacers, was able to flex and break the surrounding seal.Removal of the tiles also revealed other shortcuts taken by the Barclay Erskine team - the original fan vent and the WC overflow were left open to the weather. The plywood beneath the floor tiles was inadequately fixed, allowing movement which damaged the grout.Obviously I am upset to discover that all the trouble and the need to replace the bathroom after only 8 years are the result of ‘cowboy’ installation practices. Regardless of the inexcusable failings of the installation team, I am most upset about the failure of Barclay Erskine to take responsibility.This entire review was emailed to Barclay Erskine a month ago, but there has been no reply.
