I bought a van from Jim at McGuinness Trading, tempted by the free nationwide delivery as I'm in the north west and the van is a difficult to find extra high roof MWB so not many about, but given that it's a legit company, he offered 6 months warranty, year MOT, service etc all provided in writing I went for it.The good: it did come with a years MOT and no other major issues have developed at this stage. Jim knocked the price down from the advertised price, (although it still wasn't cheap), and it did get delivered to my door with no issues.The bad: it needed the sliding door realigning as the warning light kept coming on, and a new door seal as it was leaking badly, not major issues but not ideal. However the main issue is I do not trust Jim. He stated many times he had all the documents, service history, V5 etc, and they would arrive with the van. When they didn't arrive and I questioned him he made up some nonsense about them already being in the post on recorded delivery as it's safer to send them separately. They never turned up, and after various phone calls to him I eventually paid to register and get a V5, but I still have no service history or any other documentation. Because he blatantly lied about the documentation I have no trust in the service history, MOT or warranty he provided and judging by other reviews it's not the first time he's done this. Bottom line - the whole process of buying the van ended up being slightly stressful and not pleasant, I wouldn't buy again from McGuinness Trading and would advise you to see everything in person first if you do.

I'm still waiting for documents Jim assured me would be sent. He obviously can't be bothered. Although most of the issues with the van were eventually resolved after nearly four months and I was offered,and gratefully accepted, an appropriate refund for my troubles and for work not completed it has been a very negative experience in a number of ways and I cannot recommend McGuinness Trading because everything is just such a battle...

Jim was very helpful and knowledgeable about the van we wanted to buy , No pressure sales talk and even let us take a test drive on our own. I would highly recommend McGuiness Trading , Good condition low mileage truck at a very reasonable price.

I bought a van from Jim (Citroen Berlingo), he was very honest throughout the purchase. In addition, one of my electric windows stopped working after a few days, Jim being a man of his word paid for a mechanic to diagnose and repair the fault which was a switch in the end. I would 100% recommend his services.

Bought a van form Jim was exactly as described. A Genuine trader through and through. He even went halves with me on a new part two months after I had the van which he didn’t need to do. Would defiantly use again when buying a new vehicle

I really wish I had read these reviews before purchasing off Jim. Although on the whole I am happy with the vehicle it is not completely as advertised. I am still waiting on the complete documented service history that was part of the appeal and this is nearly two months after delivery. Vehicle also arrived with a couple of broken door trims and a non functioning jammed passenger door opening mechanism and lock. I took this on the chin and repaired myself, no big issue, it's a second hand car. However, the vehicle required an EGR replacement which was given the go ahead by Jim but as yet I am still waiting to be paid by Jim for having this done locally. Each time I have managed to actually speak to Jim he has given one reason after another and promised after sales care.The last conversation I had with Jim he promised to have transferred the money to me within two hours. This did not happen. Now, Jim is not picking up my phone calls, replying to left answer phone messages or my text and emails. The pre sale service was good, the after sales service was poor and is now non existent. The warranty is not worth the paper it's written on assuming you have a piece of paper, which of course I haven't.

Purchased a 7ton Iveco daily from Jim at Mcguinness Trading over the phone as he was 200 miles away. Having never done this before I was quite nervous at what to expect. The full process was easy and professional and the vehicle arrived exactly as described. Would recommend.

Things started off really well with Jim, seemed liked a genuine trader and wanted to provide a decent service. However I have recently come to the conclusion that Jim doesn't really give two flying ***** about his customers and only cares about taking their money.I have been chasing him for months regarding him refunding £1500 for an air handbrake that was not working when the vehicle was (eventually) delivered and also the log book that he has promised to send on multiple occasions.Now he has stopped answering my calls, returning messages or emails.Avoid if you don't want to spend your life chasing a bloke who cannot honour his word. Nothing worse in this life than a dishonourable man. If I could give a zero star rating I would. The man (if you can call him that) is a proper weasel and is full of false promises and lies.

Bought a tipper truck with a crane from Jim, was a reasonable price for a hard to find vehicle. Although there were a few post sale niggles he got them sorted in a friendly manner as soon as reasonably possible

Be very careful buying from McGuinness trading. Van was an absolute disgrace when it came. The worst looking m,o,t and one key. Told me numerous times he'd posted the V5 took months to get here. Jim told me he doesn't trust the drivers with the paper work. When it finally came it was the whole form, not registered in my name. Also spare keys turned up, I'd already spent £60 for a spare. Had to ask for compensation to help with repairs. Spent hundreds of ££££ getting the van to a usable state. Needed full new exhaust, all appliances condemned, roof leaks, no gas safety certificate and more. I have no trust in this company at all. Be very careful. Promises everything delivers very little.
