The Halfway House
Such a good country pub! So glad some places like this still retain their character and don’t over-modernise. Really friendly staff and great selection of drinks. The apple pie cider is especially good. Can’t recommend this place enough, stop by, you won’t be disappointed. Just wish I lived closer. Thanks again to all the lovely staff.

What a lovely pub! The food is amazing and reasonably priced (most mains are £12.50) and the portion sizes are good. I’ll definitely be visiting the place again.

We came for Sunday lunch at this great quirky old pub that does lovely food and has a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. A selection of ales, many local, that are second to none and local ciders plus the usual range of other drinks you'd expect. We don't like our food piled high and found the portion sizes just right, nicely cooked and served with a smile. This was our first visit and we're already planning our next visit, we loved it and hope you do too. Be aware, this is a very popular pub and we'd recommend booking a table in advance.

Fabulous outdoor space with tons of sheltered seating. Great menu with pub classics done well and a few more adventurous options too. Beer selection is top notch with a thoughtfully curated range of local and guest beers. One of the best pubs for miles and miles.

We placed our order at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere of a locals spot. Service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a great hake fish and chips and the sea bream special was top notch. An incredible building with a mysterious history. Would love to know what the walls have seen!

This is a quirky pub that has been in family hands for generations. Little has been changed inside the building. It's a must see pub. The atmosphere is 'country' and clearly a local's venue. People were all very friendly and polite.

It's my favourite local pub now. It was built in 1750s I think, beautiful inside. lovely atmosphere and owners. Haven't tried food yet.

Brilliant country pub with real beer. These are becoming rarer and rarer. Very good Sunday roast.....and I couldn't believe the price. Really, really good value. I was drinking Guinness at £4.80 per pint.
