Weaving Shed Restaurant is at the mill yard. In the restaurant, we could leisurely enjoy the beautiful scene of the long lane along the river. The staff are very polite and proactive. The menu all look fabulous as shown in the pictures. We hadn’t expected such a luxury place before we came. How wonderful it is.

Built in 1784, this is one of the best preserved textile factories from the Industrial Revolution. It's easily possible to spend a full day here. The friendly staff are happy to answer any questions and help visitors. There's so much to see with the machinery and various artefacts in the mill itself, engines, mill wheel, gardens, lovely walks in the grounds, apprentice house, village cottages, shop and restaurant.

A great National Trust with lots of history and things to see. Good walks around the grounds and further in the woods nearby. On site facilities include shop, cafe, bookshop and toilets. The mill is a great place to walk around and see the displays and history.

Beautiful place! Like many others in the area! However the entry price of £22 (National Trust) is a bit steep in my opinion

A lovely place for a day out. There are many trials to choose. At the back of the reception, a map shows the estimated time for each trail. Down the ramp, there are shops, restaurants and toilets. Bring wellies, so children could play on the steam. Many bridges there, they are all very beautiful

The National Trust have not shied away from the grim realities of the Industrial Revolution. Alongside the still working machinery are displays detailing the links with slavery and the treatment of women and children. The mill owner's house next door is thought provoking, as the juxtaposition of rich and poor is before your eyes.

It's the most impressive place I've seen for last year. Absolutely amazing! Although we made only House and Mill. Definitely will come again to enjoy the park. The old, still working factory, is amazing. The fabric can be bought in the shop near the mill entrance. Ask for the tour to listen about the history.

Fascinating place to visit, so much of our heritage preserved for future generations to experience, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, the guided tour of the apprentice house was intriguing. To see the looms in action was great to see. Lovely walks within the grounds, will definitely return.

Very, very interesting place to visit. Can get a little noisy when some of the machines are up and running as they clatter a bit. Great if you like to watch the working machinery though, quite fascinating. Lots of information boards and also helpful staff. All sorts of artefacts on display from shoes to a dentist's chair. The mill is on four floors but there are lifts as well as the stairs. Great for kids as lots of interactive displays etc. Well worth visiting.
