S & C Woodward Launderette

Great little pace. I thought it was closed at first but the light came on when I tried the door. No washing powder available from the machine but there is a store next door that has a good selection.A 'local' came in and seemed a bit annoyed that someone was using one of 'his' machines, I just thought tough, you should have got up earlier.

Not a very big launderette so you may have to wait for washers & dryers. Good because there are machines that can take larger items like quilt covers. The premises are clean and well maintained. We tend to go early on sunny days so we can peg the washing out to dry when we get home, it can be expensive using the dryers for large items. If you take your own powder & conditioner the price for washing is excellent value, half the price of some launderettes. Parking outside can be difficult when it's busy.

It is an amazing place for a quick wash and dry if you want it for an emergency or a routine.The times are 7am to 7pm with an automatic lock on the door, but it locks once the last person leaves which has been consistant and the owner has been quite kind when the time had run out but has let me continue washing my clothes after closing time. That kind of thing is very appreciated and I will always use their services.There are 3 Silver (at current date 20/01/22, one is out of order) front load washers (£3), 3 top load washers (£2) and 3 industrial dryers(20p minimum) with nearly a dozen of baskets to transfer clothes from washer to dryers.There is also a detergent vending machine so for 60p you can get detergent if you forgot to get your own or ran out.The owner, Stuart, who I've met while doing my laundry, has always been polite and helpful and we've chatted while he did maintenence on the dryers or washers. He routinely comes in just before 7pm to give the floor and machines a good wipe down and is very well prepared with the current climate, with signs and routine double cleans on all washers for the following day's laundrette usage.

Very reasonable prices for all the machines considering the cost of energy now. The dryers are well maintained and are nice and hot. The owner is helpful and just a decent gentleman, he's done the most excellent job looking after the launderette. The best time to go for drying would be late in the day 6.30 ish otherwise you'll be in a long queue.

Washed and dried clothes in just over an hour staff are lovely

Only coins accepted so you need to bring your coins with you as there is no one at the place to give you change. Self service. Open 7 days 7am to 7pm. Top loads for £2.50 and front loads £3.00. Dryers for almost 10 mins for £1.00

Nice laundrette, it is small but kept very tidy and organised. There is a vending machine to buy laundry washing products. Tumble dryers are very large and have two temperature settings. I used the laundrette whilst my kitchen was being fitted, and managed to get it all washed and dry within the hour. Subway across the road is ideal to have a brew/bite whilst you wait.

Washers are reasonably priced but the dryers don't last long enough. I put £1 in both machines but had to keep feeding it with more until my washing was dry. Cost me nearly £8 altogether. Heaven only knows what it would have cost if I had been drying towels & not clothes & bedding! All said it was a clean place & signs up about masks

Was staying at the Boat & Horses B & B for a while. I regularly visited this laundrette to do my washing and drying. I can highly recommend it. Thank you to the proprietors.
