Lucy Can't Dance

I had been feeling really nervous about shopping for my wedding dress, not having ever felt like someone who would like to look 'bridal' and feeling quite intimidated by the idea of a traditional wedding dress shop - but that all changed when I found Lucy Can't Dance! They have such lovely and unique dresses and nothing was too much trouble. I came in with no idea what I wanted, but was quickly able to find something I absolutely loved! The different kinds of lace they have on offer are amazing and like nothing I had seen looking elsewhere. The dresses all felt so comfortable and light weight. I had found out just before my appointment that I was pregnant, and wasn't sure if this would mean that I couldn't get the sort of dress I wanted. It wasn't a problem at all, and the pattern for my dress was altered so that it fit perfectly (they even added on sleeves for me and raised the v at the back so that I felt more comfortable). I can't recommend LCD enough - I loved my dress and the relaxed, enjoyable experience of choosing it!

When I first saw Lucy Can't Dance I knew I'd found my wedding dress! From the initial appointment through to picking the dress up, the team were super helpful & made me feel so comfortable. They were so accommodating on changing the dress to suit what I was looking for and it was perfect.On my wedding day my dress was so comfortable and made me feel the best version of myself. I just wish I could wear it everyday!

As soon as I walked into Lucy Can't Dance I knew in my gut I was in the right place for me - it was bright, colourful, edgy and full of the most unique and beautiful dresses I'd ever come across. I was super nervous as I still hadn't tried my dress on (I was lucky enough to get it in a sample sale) but the team were so amazing at keeping me calm and were determined for me to really enjoy the experience (having severe anxiety disorder and body confidence issues definitely meant this was a challenge too)! The moment it was on I felt completely amazing - I knew I had found THE dress!I can honestly say that I felt like an absolute princess on my wedding day, which is a feeling I never thought I'd have so I really cannot put into words how grateful I am to LCD!If you are looking for a truly unique and utterly STUNNING wedding dress then I cannot recommend Lucy Can't Dance enough honestly - I will cherish my dress forever and will never forget having such a wonderful experience!

Lucy Can’t Dance is the wedding shop of dreams. Being plus size, I was a little worried about my wedding dress shopping experience, but I needn’t have been and knew that I would find my perfect dress as soon as I stepped into their amazing shop. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, accommodating and inclusive and I genuinely couldn’t have wished for anything more. My first visit and my first fitting were almost a year apart (due to the pandemic), and Lucy Can’t Dance couldn’t have done more for me, allowing me to try on dresses again to make sure that my initial decision was still the right one. The workmanship on the dresses is divine and the fact that everything is customisable meant I could have exactly what I wanted to fit my body perfectly.Highly recommended.

I could not have been happier with my amazing LCD dress :) I'd loved the dip dyed Lola dress after seeing it in Rock the Frock but fell hard for Pulp Fiction with its gorgeous full skirt.My dress was made to measure and used vegan bamboo silk which Lucy went to some effort to source (and dye!) for me, and having something hand made with such care and personalised for me made my finished wedding dress feel even more special.Everything about the process of having my dress made by Lucy was fantastic - the studio was awesome and full of fun details, the music was great and I really enjoyed the time with Lucy - especially planning my awesome pom pom veil!I felt awesome on the day, my dress was so unique, looked amazing at our ceremony in the desert and really importantly - was super comfy and very danceable!

I was very nervous about finding a dress that was me, I couldn't face stepping into a typical bridal shop. So when I found Lucy Can't Dance online I was over the moon. Lucy was super understanding when we were running late to get there. Stepping in and seeing all of the stunning creations in there plus Bowie the beautiful pooch, I felt right at ease, Lucy made me feel completely comfortable, and I knew instantly I had found my dress. I went back a few times and always had a positive experience, Chloe was fantastic doing my fitting and the fact my dress had pockets was the cherry on top. I got married on Saturday and I had so many compliments on the dress. I recommend Lucy Can't dance to any untraditional/alternative bride to be! She also does kids dresses too which are totally adorable. Thank you Lucy and Chloe for making finding my dress so enjoyable and not daunting at all.

Before finding Lucy Can’t Dance I was really struggling with finding a wedding dress and was starting to feel a bit low about myself when trying stuff on. As soon as I met Lucy in her awesome tropical studio I was immediately put at ease, and knew I’d find ‘the one’! Not only were her designs stunning, unusual and remarkably comfortable, but I felt like I could really be the best me in one of them.Lucy is absolutely amazing, so friendly and helpful and immensely talented and I would recommend her in a heartbeat. Now I just need to find another occasion to rock out my amazing wedding dress! Thank you Lucy and team - you are incredible, and you made me feel like an absolute rockstar! Love Amy xx

I never wanted to wear a white dress, and as soon as I saw Lunatic on the LCD Instagram I knew that was my wedding dress. On my wedding day literally everyone told me they loved my dress, and people I didn't even know were asking to take photos of it to show their mates. The whole experience with the girls at the studio was just incredible, it was such a fun and laid back atmosphere, not to mention the cool posters and neon lights! I cannot rate LCD highly enough, they are the coolest and the best. And I can confirm that Bowie's butt is indeed fluff!

I knew as soon as I saw Lucy Can't Dance's dresses on social media, I knew they were for me!I dress 1940s/1950s everyday so knew I wanted a retro inspired dress. I also didn't want to wear white, Lucy Can't Dance was perfect for me.I struggle with how I look - I'm plus size (UK 18/20) - and was really anxious about if the dresses would fit or look good on me. I also didn't think I'd be cool enough for their dresses.I didn't need to worry! From my first fitting, the staff made me feel like I belonged. The staff at LCD are so wonderful. They made me feel special and I didn't once feel uncomfortable or judged for my size and shape.I loved that you could pick out so many options and colours and create something truly unique. I settled on tutti frutti with a reverse blue dip dye. I asked for the neckline to be a V shape rather than a boat neck.Just as a side note, the shop in Chelmsford is AMAZING. The colours, the decor, the music...PERFECT. I loved being there.The dress was so beautiful. The details were stunning and the colours were perfect. I got so many compliments (the kids at the wedding said I looked like a princess/mermaid). Its was also comfortable and created a nice shape. It was perfect for running around, dancing, and feeding alpacas!Thank you LCD for making my wedding dreams come true. Your team are so lovely, talented, and creative.

I didn't want to step foot in a bridal shop, I pretty much hate all wedding dresses. I was lucky enough to know my husband to be could make the separates exactly how I wanted them but I didn't want him to know what I'd look like overall so after many hours of trawling the internet I found Lucy Can't Dance and immediately bought a made to measure Creature top to put over my dress. It fit perfectly on visiting the studio to collect it. The visit actually changed my perception of bridal shops. There was no fuss or pretension or pressure, exactly why I didn't want to go to my local well known Yorkshire dress shop. Absolutely no judgement of me or my body. We got to give Bowie some amazing cuddles and Lucy was the epitome of kindness to me and my daughter. I highly recommend LCD to all reluctant brides! Thank you.
