The Royal Hotel
Hired out the downstairs bar for a surprise party. Hannah could not have been more attentive and helpful throughout the whole thing. We also had a lovely barman on the night - Billy I think? Who also ensured that we had everything we needed.Thank you ☺️

This place was the perfect way to experience English culture! We walked around southend and just had to come in! The scones and tea were delicious as well as the different burgers and chicken meals they had! Definitely have no complains about the service here! It was lovely and perfect! Love the staff!

Visited Southend in Sea and popped for Sunday lunch at The Royal. One of the best lunches I have ever tasted. Sat outside overlooking the sea. Service was good, quick and polite. Food arrived piping hot. Good price for 2 courses.

Great spot with very nice food. Thoroughly enjoyed the coq au vin and sticky lamb dishes, and the cod goujons from the kids was very good and great value. My daughter also loved the Bumbleberry juice!The only negative on the food front was the chips with the kids meal were so over salted it could've killed an adult hippo. I had to wipe the salt off literally each chip with a napkin before giving them to my 4 year old.Service was a bit slow when we got there, I think it was a shift changeover, so I had to get my own menus, find someone to take my order, but it got better after that and they were very attentive.

As a LOCAL GUIDE.It's great to go to our LOCAL SEASIDE.I BEEN HERE AND I SAY. HOTEL FOOD AND A BAR WITH ENTERTAINMENT LIVE. tribute band of TAKE THATWhy not stay here an hour away from Liverpool Street LONDON.

A quiet, elegant dining room, helpful staff and terrific choice of music from 1960's through to early 1980's while we were there.A lovely meal and attentive but not intrusive service.The only downside was access, impossible for a wheelchair.A very pleasant experience and the best part of our day in Southend.

The Royal Hotel
The hotel was clean. I requested our bed sheets be changed on arrival. They weren't dirty as in not been washed they were but there was an imprint of a boot on the sheet. Any way they were changed immediately. Just unfortunate they should never have been fitted. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was good and reasonably priced. We payed what I considered to be a small amount extra for a sea view and it was well worth it with exceptional view of the estuary. Though hotel staff need to go out and clean the balconies to the same standard as the rest the hotel
