Drumcairn Forest
Honoured to have been the one to add Drumcairn Forest to Google Maps. This was a childhood haunt for us local kids and we had many happy times here. It was left to go back to nature for a number of years before being made compatible for visitors again with the carpark made useable. It was still a bit neglected with lots of overgrown paths and unwelcome stinging nettles a real hazard for those with bare legs.Well what a difference has now been accomplished over the past few months of 2023. All paths have now had lots of attention and the forest is now on par with Portglenone and Pomeroy Forests. Carpark is suitable for around 10 to 15 cars. No toilets. It really is nice to see that this fine little forest has now had such love and care given to it. Should have been like this all along, truth be told. Certainly will make this a regular stop from now on.
