Great North Chippy
My husband and I grabbed some fish and chips from here because it was on the way to our destination, didn't really know what to expect.The food was absolutely delicious! The batter was so crispy, the chips were beautifully crispy and fluffy and when we asked for a decent amount of salt and vinegar we got the perfect amount.The lady that served us was lovely, came outside to get everyone's orders to ensure social distancing in the shop.Highly recommend this fish & chip shop.

Great North Chippy
Another visit today. We had cod and chips. Looking at the size of it. It’s almost the length of my forearm! Nice batter and delicious meal. Thank you to the lovely lady for the great service.

Great North Chippy
First time trying this place and I have to admit my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed their Fish and Chips. Beautiful crispy battery with perfectly cooked cod. Outstanding and the lady behind the counter was very polite and friendly. Great food try it, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Lovely lady serving. Place looked clean. But the food wasn't great. I had fish cake and chips, my Mum had corned beef patty and chips. Chips were OK, but the fish cake and patty were bread crumbed and then battered. Both were like fatty cardboard on the outside. The patty was nicely peppery though. But both my Mum and I felt slightly nauseous about half an hour after eating. We won't be going back. Sorry to leave a poor review, but it wasn't good.

Food was excellent and fairly priced. Speed of service was brilliant - food cooked to order. Staff were friendly and chatty. Parking available outside the shop.

1st time trying Great North Chippy.The owner is very friendly, the cod fish is large and comes in a tasty batter.The chips portion is also large.So if you want fish and chips, you should try this place!You won't be dissapointed!

I ate here a few months ago, but I'm afraid it wasn't a great experience. The staff seemed fairly unwelcoming, or at least that was my impression after asking if they took card. I only got a portion of chips, so I can't say much for the other menu items, but the chips seemed fairly pale and limp. The potatoes themselves seemed pretty flavourless. The shop did at least look clean though, and the prices/portion sizes were good

Cold dry greasy chips that had clearly been sitting a while,barely edible.would be nice if they had been cooked fresh to order.would be better if the food was served in a box rather than wrapped in paper as the fish stuck to the paper and fell apart.

Absolutely appalling rubbish!Sorry-actually no I'm not-we were treat by a member of our family to fish and chips from this shop for our Golden Wedding Anniversary tea and it was virtually inedible. The fish was coated in a flat tasteless 'batter' which was swimming in grease-I kid you not! there were small bones left in it and the chips must've been reheated as they were all hard and not nice at all. Albeit it was all warm but horrible and most went into the bin. Never again! who ever runs this place needs to learn how to fillet and cook fish and not reheat the chips!
