Bob Hunter Wren Cabinet Makers

Heard about this business & was intrigued and wanted to know more. So as we were visiting York & the surrounding area we decided to find them & visit.Welcomed us into their workshop. My husband was in his element & delighted when David took time out to talk to him about my husband's time as a cabinet maker. Lovely to meet Bob at well. Looking great at 90.

Please, please note before driving to Asenby the correct location for Wren Cabinet makers is Thirlby (about 10 miles away). Brilliant workshop and excellent craftsmanship in Thirlby.

As a collector of Mouseman I thought I'd add to my arts and crafts collection with some Wrenman for a change. I bought a few items from the shop yesterday, all superb quality. I would definitely recommend to others, a really lovely shop with some amazing hand carved items, very friendly too. Already thinking about what my next purchase will be!

Best Cabinet Makers/Woodcarvers on the planet. Amazing family business making everything by hand. Lovely people creating antiques of the future. Worth a visit if you are in Yorkshire. Similar to Mouseman (Mr Hunter was a Mouseman apprentice in the early days) but better quality and less costly for superior craftsmanship.

Both bob and david are both fine carpenters and a joy toTalk to about their lives and work

We have bought a few items from Wren Cabinet Makers, mainly dealt with Jack and David, but said hello to Bob as he was still working a bit when we bought the items last year, the workmanship was excellent and the prices very reasonable, but mostly it was the open and friendly manner of Jack and David. They have a lovely little showroom next to their workshop, where you can see some examples of what they make, and see where its made. We look at our pieces that they have made for us every day and they give us so much pleasure, I would not hesitate to recommend Wren Cabinet Makers, true craftsmen that produce excellent pieces of work.

Fantastic place. Let us into his workshop I could have stayed for ages looking at the old traditional tools. Really nice friendly people would certainly recommend a visit. Definitely go again and buy something else.
