My wife and I spent a wonderful 3 hours with Amy in her jewellery studio making gifts for our 10th wedding anniversary. We chatted about our ideas over a cup of tea. We made a silver bangle and cuff. Amy explained and demonstrated the process step by step, guiding us where required :)Amy’s knowledge and love of her craft were plain to see and we knew we would leave with two lovely and unique items to cherish for years to come. The Third Aye Jewellery studio is a great addition to the village.Thank you Amy

“My mum and I spent the most fulfilling morning at AJ’s gorgeous workshop in Nethy Bridge for a jewellery making course. Her workshop is a sanctuary of calmness, creativity and connection - music in the background, goldfinches feeding just outside the window, sipping cups of mint tea and giggling away sharing stories and comparing our efforts.AJ taught us an ancient process of sand casting, creating a cast of an object using a sandy clay.Much like how fossils are formed - pressed into fine sediment and then compacted to leave an imprint. We sped up the process using a hammer to firm the clay up around the shell, leaving a perfect shell form to fill with molten silver. We cast cowrie shells that were my granny’s (my mum’s mum’s). And with me expecting a wee one, the morning had a multi-generational feel - past, present and future all coming together. The most satisfying part was using a blowtorch to melt down offcuts of silver into a flowing liquid blob that we poured into the cast where the shell had been. The result was two perfect silver shells, which we learned to file and polish, making them ready for a necklace. It felt so rewarding making something so beautiful and permanent from an object as simple as a shell. And imagining all those people before us who’ve used this ancient process to create things to be shared and cherished.AJ is so knowledgable, patient and fun. She’s such a great teacher that it didn’t even feel like we were being taught, just like a bunch of friends getting together to create. We had the best time and left with full hearts and sore cheeks from smiling. I can’t recommend AJ’s jewellery-making course enough.”

I had a great time making my silver necklace at the Third Aye workshop. Amy is a wonderful & welcoming instructor & I was left with a lovely keepsake to remember my time in the Cairngorms. I would recommend this experience for anyone wanting to dip their toe into working with silver or simply just to try something new!

I cannot speak highly enough of Amy and her business. I had an idea to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Amy exceeded my hopes and helped me to deliver a very special gift . Amy took an idea and created a piece that met every expectation and beyond. I will use the Third Aye again and have already recommended two friends. Thank you .

We had an amazing morning with Amy making silver stud earrings. Amy was a wonderful teacher and patiently took us through the process from start to finish, leaving us with a beautiful set of earrings to take home. We can't wait to return and make some more unique jewellery!

Beyond thrilled I decided on The Third Aye to make my engagement and wedding rings. From the first meeting Amy was attentive and understanding of what I was after and offered so many creative options. She helped me to come up with a design that is so unique and totally “me”, that is miles better than anything I could have bought in a shop! Her regular updates throughout kept me in the loop and she helped me to understand the benefits of all the materials in use. Such an incredible creator. Thanks Amy ❤️

Amy's workshop was exceptional, friendly and so much fun for me and my Wife. Her experience helped us make our perfect rings for our most perfect day. We both can't recommend The Third Aye enough to anyone wanting to make any of their own jewelry and especially wedding rings. We both got to create exactly what we wanted for ourselves, something Amy was so passionate about. One the most lovely businesses you can find in Scotland.

What a fantastic – and fantastically mindful – experience. Amy's studio workshop in Nethy Bridge is a perfect little space to make, create and chat. Amy is a brilliant teacher. Patient and calm. I had no idea what to expect, but my old friend Paul and I spent a few hours completely engrossed in the process of crafting a silver ring (Paul) and silver earrings (me). Along the way, we covered all manner of subjects. I am so happy with my earrings and the fact that I made them myself, with help from Amy, makes them even more special. I'd thoroughly recommend doing a workshop with a friend or family member. It combines a wonderful experience in an intimate space with something special to take home with you. What more could you ask?
