The Playhouse Bar
This is a great place to visit on a warm evening, the outside seating is lit with strings of bulbs and it feels cozy. It's not just for those attending the theatre either, it always attracts a young vibrant crowd but everyone behaves respectfully. If you want to sit inside then it's an equally welcoming atmosphere. The bar staff are friendly too.

A Norwich staple with excellent service and the best place to take a break from the world outside.A obvious student hangout but very much open to all, this much of its appeal. Often popping in for a cup of tea in the day time, the atmosphere is relaxed and casual.A great rotation of local ales and keg beers as well as large selection of spirits not forgetting the wide range of hot/cold soft drink staples, there will be something for you!

The Playhouse Bar
The Playhouse Bar has a more modern and stylish atmosphere than The Ribs of Beef, but it still has a friendly and welcoming vibe. The bar has a wide selection of drinks, including local ales, craft beers, and cocktails. The food menu is also extensive, with a variety of bar snacks and light meals.

This is a quick little spot in the artsy area of Norwich, mainly students and folks in there 20's here, but all ages do enjoy the atmosphere. Nice pints and a great selection of Tea (not what you might typically expect but I'm all for it). You'll be challenged to find a ceiling with more characters in another pub I will say.

A very nice, friendly and bohemian place, definitely has character, and very different from the standard bar/cafe and all the better for it. Popped in for a single refresher ended up staying for a few hours.Highly recommended (and the staff are great too)

The Playhouse Bar
We went in on a very hot day in June for a drink. The garden was lovely as the breeze comes of the river cooling the terraces. The beer was as you would expect in a Norwich bar, but the décor was very different. It appears to have been completed by various local artists and students, although I am guessing this. The majority of people in the garden looked like students but there was also a mix of families and friend. We didn’t try the food but would recommend it for a calm drink by the river.

Lovely city centre bar on the river with good outdoors seating. Great for a casual drink or a longer night out. Can bring your own food in from outside on the basis of them not doing their own, but always best to check with the staff first. Can get quite busy sometimes if there's a show on that night so best to go early and avoid disappointment

Lovely little place with great little garden. They only serve drinks at lunchtime so you can bring your own lunch and get a nice drink from the bar. Had a great iced coffee!
