Canterbury Student Manor - Student Accommodation

A perfect accommodation for students. They have all the facilities you may need like open and indoor gym, cinema room, games room, meeting area, and large kitchen.The staff are really friendly and helpful. They care so much about the residents and how to always cheer them up with freebies.The place is always so clean and tidy.It’s a 5 min walk from Asda. Also, you have subway, McDonald’s and KFC which are not far.However, it’s far from university of Kent. You have to take a bus or two, or walk for like 45 minutes.My only concern was that the studio was so small and there is no oven inside the studio.

It's ok but not excellent to talk about my experience staying at Student Manor.“A block” lift is useless when you need to move or lift something heavy. Six months out of a year the lift did not function.The staff is cordial but never offers assistance. When I first arrived at the manor, they refused to allow me stay because my money waited a day to arrive, and they also did not assist me in obtaining a cab in a foreign city. Definitely not helpful at all.A number of the security guards are excellent, but a few of the ladies are downright unpleasant and have no idea how to interact with the students that stay there.Speaking of the laundry service, whenever the machines break down, the staff never offers assistance; instead, they simply claim that they are controlled by a third party. Seriously? When they need money, it's always them, even though they always claim that they don't operate anything. They never let me stay after a day of payment lateness.Instead, I implore you to avoid making the same mistake I did and select a better accommodation option.

I have been a resident of this accommodation for almost two years now. Recently, I experienced a pipe blockage that caused my bathroom and hallway to flood. It was a challenging situation as I had to take care of removing the water myself, and the shower and sink were unusable for several days. Despite requesting assistance for two to three days, I did not receive any help until Darius stepped in and provided me with all the assistance he could.As an international student, I appreciate having someone to talk to when I am feeling low and stuck in my room. Darius was always available and looking out for me, and I am grateful for his support in making my stay bearable during a challenging time.I would also like to extend my appreciation to Natasha, who treated me with kindness and greeted me warmly every day. They ensured that the accommodation was clean and well-maintained, which made a significant difference to my overall experience.For any students considering this accommodation for their term, I would highly recommend CSM. The team went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable, and they even looked out for my personal well-being. Thank you to everyone at CSM who made my stay a positive experience.

This is a really fantastic student accommodation. The facilities are great - gym, cinema room and pantry. The staff are amazing. Diba, Darius and Cameron are always willing to help and are quite friendly. If there is a problem, it's fixed ASAP, and communication with the management team is pretty fast! The management team went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and at home. However the accommodation team should definitely consider putting fans in the rooms/ flats to make summer time manageable.

I recently visited a lovely student accommodation with a friend and was impressed by its focus on students and their needs. The facilities and amenities were top-notch, making it a great choice for any student. Highly recommended!

This is one of if not the best student dorms to stay in at your time in university in Canterbury. The gated area is very safe and secure. The modern design is lovely which also finds its way into the rooms. Upon checking in the rooms are deep cleaned and spotless. There are several facilities for tenants to use that are of high quality (gym, cinema, pantry, study room, laundry room, social areas) The staff are lovely and are available 24/7. Highly recommended as a place to stay as it is located in a lovely part of town with a large supermarket and gym just a few minute walk away.

I’ve stayed here for two years now and the staff and security team are all lovely. Diba is so friendly and helpful, always greeted with a smile too, which just makes all the difference! Darius (the man to go to if something has gone wrong!) always says hi and has a chat with you, so friendly and welcoming. In my first year, our communal kitchen hob went wrong and Darius fixed and replaced it within the day! If I ever had any issues I’d feel more than comfortable to go to the staff. B block is relatively quiet so great for me as a third year, who just needs to study 24/7. Also the rooms and en-suites are so modern and clean, which you definitely don’t get from the accommodation provided by the university. I’m going to miss the team and my studio flat when I graduate in a few months ❤️ thank you all - Vicky

I have had items stolen here. Post is left in the hall and anyone can just pick it up and take it, which clearly has happened. Asked to see CCTV several times and when I finally got through to night staff it was too late and we couldn't see it. Diba did absolutely nothing at all and told us there has never been a issue here with theft, despite how we know someone who had their motorbike stolen and going by these reviews, I am not the only one who has their stuff nicked! Darius is lovely and been super helpful, the rest do not care whatsoever. Do not come here unless you want your post stolen.
