First visit to the Lancaster, booked in advance and we were shown to a cosy, clean well presented table, we both ordered from the Indian menu although English food is available, the staff were very attentive and friendly, the food arrived quickly and was delicious. All in a very pleasant dining experience,although the bar area was very busy and noisy at 6pm,

Went on friday night for a curry with my brother and sister, beautiful meal, superb service. Was that impressed i took my wife for a sunday roast to celebrate her birthday.Wont be the last time i book a table there. 5*

I've now been here twice for the lunch light bite menu and have seriously enjoyed myself.The food always seems to be cooked perfectly and between myself and several friends I've seen many of the dishes available on this menu. Definitely an enjoyable experience.

First time we've been in under the new ownership. Ordered two meals and drinks.Drinks were vile - very sour taste, unclean pipes! We never finished pur drinks.Food - fish came out uncooked, and bacon cheese burger over cooked screwed up piece of plastic cheese disguised the shrivelled piece of bacon (well I think that's what it was)The lady who served was very pleasant and swapped one of the meals but it was to little to late by this point, we upped and left.Neither of us finished our food or drinks and definitely won't be returning.Last time we ate here the food was great and drinks were much better.

We had a Sunday carvery here since it's been taken over some of it was absolutely lovely, the only downfall is the pork and beef was very chewy and the cauliflower cheese is not cauliflower cheese. It's simply a bit of cheddar melted over it. Other than this the meal was lovely we had to ask for extra veg as they was not enough carrot between the three of us but this was sorted promptly by staff. Place is clean just lacking a but of atmosphere on a Sunday. Prices weren't too much.

Don’t know what is happening. Have been coming regularly every week since last September, always fantastic food and service but unfortunately over the last month it is dreadful. Don’t get me wrong the food is ok but the waiting time is absolutely ridiculous. Tonight we waited an hour and 20 minutes for our food and the pub was virtually empty . There were no serviettes available as they had run out. This has happened every week for the last few weeks. Sorry to say we won’t be coming again .

John is brilliant and the pub used to be brilliant. The new owner himself is nice but the new Indian menu is far too expensive and disappointing - especially when the Pheasant is right up the road! The chilli chips were cold and bland and the garlic chilli chicken curry was too watery and not spicy at all. Burger was nice enough but massively overpriced - under tbe old owner a double burger with a drink was £6.29, now it's over £10 without a drink! To top it off the lady serving us was extremely rude - she took our plates as we were still eating without asking! Another member of staff was absolutely lovely and had to come over and take our payment as the other woman walked off after we asked to split the bill. At a lower price point and if the food improved I'd love to return.
