Friendly congregation and sensible precautions

Attended a funeral here. The church is in an unusual shape, being round. The acoustics, lighting and visibility are good. The priest was friendly and welcoming. The environment was clean and tidy. The seating was comfortable with a drop down padded plinth for kneeling. The church flower arrangements were superb. The service was inclusive and supportive.

Very rude and disheartening behaviour from the father him self- father Gregory. Requiring about a booking and received such disgusting manner over the phone from a figure who should be a role model for the church. I have never experienced this from a church before apart from this church. You would think that the best time to call a church would be Sunday after their service when their hearts are filled with joy and happiness but no, not for this church. The father hung up on me then called me back to give me further distress and to cancel my booking all because I called on a Sunday to ask when I could come and give the deposit. I would much rather give my money else where even if it’s double but never to this church where the father him self portrays such disgusting manner of speaking that is not associated with church’s. I have worked with many churches before and they have all been so welcoming and homely. This church not so welcoming and homely. I should have learned this when I was taking the number down from the board and a lady who may have been associated with the church stopped her car and came out and asked so rudely what we wanted. Not a church I would ever recommend for a booking. Absolutely disgusted.

Beautiful Church, very welcoming , amazing Priest Fr Gregory and parishioners

This is the little Church where I gave my life to Jesus,I will never forget that day, I was four years old, alwaysrunning away even then, my lovely a Grandma saidI must give my life to Jesus. I have been running awayever since , had an amazing life, Jesus has always runwith me it seems.I am writing a book at long last, with the help of Jesus....I was born in 1944........St Cuthbert has amazing memoriesfor me. Came here three years ago for Easter Sunday Mass as I was on holiday, in which I arrived early, such a unique church very different to any of the Catholic Churches around where I’m from, the West Midlands, with the Altar in the center of the church and the pews going around it. I was welcomed very well from Fr Gregory and from the rest of the congregation in which I got chatting to. Would love to come back again.

A circular seating arrangement, now common in Catholic churches, a large reception in the basement which could be awkward for older or not so able people.
