Appalling customer service. Zero common sense, but specialists in 'computer says no'. Tried to transfer money using my online account, which got flagged due to the amount & told to go to this branch to verify identity. Called them and explained I couldn't as I was self isolating under doctors orders due to chest infection & fractured hip. I offered various ways to prove my identity online, but was basically told its 'their way or the highway'. So I had to make a painful 8 mile journey to the town centre (Had to get a taxi as can't drive due to hip). When I got to this branch, they said 'I thought you said you couldn't come in?' Unbelievable!!! Proved my identity, transfered money, closed Halifax account & told them I will never do business with them ever again. Made to feel like a criminal. I strongly suggest you bank elsewhere (First Direct are brilliant).

Staff are helpful, but departments don't communicate with each other properly and transactions are not recorded properly. Spent ages on the phone yesterday trying to sort out an issue which has now occurred. There has been a mistake on their part and I feel an apology to myself is appropriate. Have now raised a complaint for the first time in all of my years (been a loyal customer to them for many years) of banking with them. Extremely disappointed.

Absolute rubbish. Where is our letter of probate requested back in July? This is the worst company ever, avoid like the plague. In this day of modern technology everything in this company seems to move at a a snails pace. The slick advertising is far from reality as the Halifax is one of the most incompetent companies I ever come across in my lifetime

This place just employs idiots i swear. Got told on the phone to go into branch because of a technical issue that kept occuring every time i tried to open an account for my daughter. Go in, they tell me to call and do it over the phone. Complaint raised after getting passed from pillar to post. No care for long term customers. Incorrect information given by the idiots working there. Can accept a photo of ID if online, but not a photo of the ID in person. This policy is garbage. Wasnt told to bring my kids ID even though my name is the main one on the account. Went to the appt and told to rebook. Went to the rebooked appt but was running 10 mins late (job interview over ran), they didn't call me. Turn up and get told i cant be seen because im 10 mins late and they have seen someone else instead!! Just appalling customer LACK OF SERVICE.

The mortgage team are fantastic. Tracey & Damien were extremely helpful, even when one of our employers was being difficult to communtice with! Would definately recommend to anyone looking to get a mortgage. As a first time buyer, Tracey explained everything for us and helped us to understand the process.

Because I've turned 55 treated me like I didn't know what I was doing as if I was being forced to transfer money.Lloyds are the same wrote a cheque they would let it go to my mums account because I've turned 55. Both banks are linked so it your over 55 you must be senile and not really want to pay someone else

Useless. Self service machines are a joke. The staff are non existent unless you want to buy a product. After the machine ate my money and bank card I was told to queue or try the machine again. I said I'd come back when the air con was fixed. All I got was a Good luck with that" with a shrug from a rude

15% deposit required for any mortgage??? You have to be kidding me? How the hell do you expect first time buyers to get on the property ladder if they have to say minimum £20k just to get a mortgage. Especially when you have wonderful companies that offer 5% deposit mortgages out there. Disgraceful.

Online they say one thing... you go into the branch and they make you feel stupid because you've been told the wrong information through the banking app online. Not good customer service skills at all. Also have no idea how to deal with people with mental health.
