Pleasant surroundings, good food - all 8 of us enjoyed everything we had - service attentive. Only minus was the food took a while to arrive and it wasn't busy. Will go again

Was very disappointed had been looking forward to going for ages. We had to wait ages for drinks on arrival in fact the starter arrived before the drinks and was with waiter for ages while she chatted with her co workers and arrived cold. There was a half hour wait for the main course and it was luke warm when it finally arrived. Nobody asked if we would like any sauces. We were given a dessert menu but no one came back to ask if we wanted anything so we just asked for the bill. Very disappointing experience. I would advise that the waiting staff paid more attention to patrons than colleagues.

The Hare and Hounds is very reasonably priced. We stayed one night on a Saturday, and unfortunately, the car park was full on arrival, but there's is a pay and display car park around the corner. The room was clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities and a shower over the bath in the bathroom. We stayed in one of the rooms on the first floor across the courtyard where we could open the window as the room was hot. Breakfast in the morning was very good but did not have any fresh fruit and was all self-service. We would stay again but would check if a wedding was on.

Amazing lunch for a family of 4.We sat in the bar area and atmosphere was very good, great ambiance and decor.We had mains and desserts and my vegetarian wife loved her options.Friendly and welcoming service.We will definitely come back to taste more of the menu!

Have visited previously for a drink and lunch. This time visited for Sunday lunch with friends. We ate at 14.45. Lunch was very enjoyable but the meat was a little dry - perhaps because it was later in the day. Veg and gravy was excellent as were the puddings.

My friend and I stopped off at The Hare & Hounds looking for a meal at a bit of an odd time (around 4.30pm) after a long drive from Devon. After having been disappointed by various places as their kitchens were closing after 3pm or weren't open until 6pm even on a bank holiday, finding The Hare & Hounds was serving food on our route home was a godsend. We shared the bang bang cauliflower starter, then had fish & chips and the veg risotto for mains, and shared an Eton mess for dessert, all of which were delightful and filling. We saw someone else had ordered the luxury fish pie and got food envy, though it looked massive so we probably wouldn't have been able to finish it. Service was great, we were looked after by the lovely Shaun. We'd definitely come back if we were in the area again (probably to try the fish pie!!).

A little more expensive than your standard pub fare, but you get what you pay for! Food was delish! Staff were great. I'll be taking the family back.
