Halfords Autocentre Manchester (Bury New Rd)

Took advantage of me and overcharged me massively. Won’t be back.If you are a woman don’t go as clearly they overcharged me.Forced me to get the most expensive tyres without offering any other options, charged me for the fuel efficiency pack without asking, changed my brake discs and pads with a very confusing pricing. No breakdown on the cost of parts and the cost of work.

Took two days to repair a bad fuse on a windscreen wiper. Rang me up and asked if I wanted to collect it ? Feels like they couldnt be bothered to fix it.

4 hours for a few brake check today. They just waste your time here.Been 4 times now for different reasons and everything seems to take all day even for quick checks, it's totally unreasonable. There's nothing to do around the area other than a Tim Horton's and they make you wait all day and don't seem to know what they're doing or what needs doing. Try to charge insane prices too.Lady on reception is lovely and very helpful.

What fantastic customer service from start to finish. The car was booked in for a diagnostic test as the engine management light was on. I expected the worst, and was told it was just an issue with spark plugs. Phew so relieved. Nkitta on reception was lovely and very helpful, finding a quote for the cost of repair within 5min of the diagnostic result. The mechanic explained the fault in layman terms so I understood and the Manager was great.

Called in the afternoon for a free battery and electricals check. Dropped the car off 9:30 the next morning, then got a call at lunchtime that the car was ready for pickup. Answered all my questions and recycled my old battery for me. Can't fault

Avoid Halford at all cost they’ll ripe you off your hard earning money please stay away! I have been asked to pay £300 to just replace one rear brake clipper.which is I got it for just£100 in different garage.stay away!

Had my MOT done here yesterday. Very fast and efficient. It passed, and they gave me some advice for what I’d need to do over the next year.

So I booked wheel alignment for a Corsa, at the cost of £35.99 (using a discount code online) as the front nearside wheel was out of sync. Dropped it off early on a Tuesday morning and then came back at the end of the day to collect it. On arrival, I was told sorry no alignment has been done as there was an issue with the operation of one of the ramps at the garage. Was told please bring the car back on Thursday. So I reluctantly agreed to bring the car back in first thing on Thursday morning. When I came to collect the car for the second time, just before closing on the Thursday evening, I found my car was elevated on a ramp. The store manager who was very apologetic showed me the underneath of my car and said sorry we could not do the alignment, you need to go to a garage that offers 4 wheel alignment, not 2 wheel alignment, that Halfords apparently only offer. I was a little bit surprised at the time as my Corsa is not 4 wheel drive. The manager offered me a full refund, which was credited to my account 5 days later. I went to another garage (Independent business) that charged me £25 for a 4 wheel alignment. The work took the other business no more than 25 minutes, while I waited on site. I don't know what to think about my experience with Halfords. I feel that perhaps Halfords could have called me during the day with some kind of update. How can I possibly recommend them after this experience? Only gave 2 star, rather than 1, because the manager was very apologetic and gave an explanation..
