Formerly Vine Street Mission, which once consisted of Vine Street Mission Church building in Vine street itself plus the mission hall at the corner of Duke street and Vine street.The mission hall was actually built on waste ground known locally as the field" but it was actually hard compacted earth.The present building stands on a corner block of land with the main east coast railway line on one side and the second side borders Derwent water road. Entry to the small car park is via the third side of the triangle. I recall all the youth sections of the Scout Movement left a good number of years ago and never returned."
