As a commercial property rental business we need reliable contractors, which is most important when we have quick turnarounds between tenancies to prepare the property. We have always found the Pankhurst painters and office staff professional and helpful. They will try to accommodate the work into our time scales, even if it’s meant amending their own schedule to fit the work in. The workmanship is always to a high standard and has made a huge difference to the aesthetics of our buildings. Using their expertise when it comes to colour choice for our properties is invaluable and Martin always suggests things we haven’t thought off – and I can say it always turns out an excellent decision. Pankhurst Decorators provided me with a quotation to paint the outside of my house (woodwork, gutters, drainage etc.). They included the cost of painting the front door which I then advised was not required. They advised that the cost of this would be deducted from the overall cost of the work which I agreed to, assuming that they would offer a fair reduction.After the work was completed, I received an invoice that had only been reduced by £25!! I politely questioned this as I would have imagined that this reduction would have been closer to £150, based on average prices on checkatrade.com being between £150 to £300.I received a blunt response stating that this discount was fair and reasonable, and that they would provide no further correspondence. They also reminded me to pay my bill! I replied reiterating my dissatisfaction, but confirmed that the bill would be paid in full (which it now has). I also advised that I would be leaving a google review to reflect this.I was shocked this morning to find a further email from Pankhurst Decorators confirming that if you leave a review online which is detrimental to our reputation I will not hesitate in taking further action". They also confirmed that the cost of preparing and painting one door for a public sector contract is £27
