Fabulous food, quick efficient service. Would have been 5 stars but the staff were a little formal. I appreciate its a higher end eatery but the gentleman who served us, although pleasant enough was not very engaging

Pretty traditional pub food, but at the higher end of the quality scale. We visited in a Sunday, not sure if it was a specific Sunday menu, but lots of roast and steak options. good amount of fish and shellfish options. Ok selection of beers. Dog friendly

Really lovely pub with very friendly service, quite luxurious (and expensive) studio room (more for newlyweds - with big bath and champagne ...) - although aircon would be welcome. Food sounds v ambitious (wagyu, lobster, sole, champagnes, ...) and breakfast was wonderful. Extra sub-pub for dog owners! Also several other nice little friendly touches like Yorkie bar, cricket ball keychain etc

A stunning example of a traditional Yorkshire pub. Epic array of beers some from local brewers, Dog friendly, real fires, incredible service and more importantly really awesome food. The Sunday lunch (Lamb) was really really good. The Yorkshire Pudding was one of the best I’ve ever had (kudos given I’m the world champion) the cauliflower cheese was equally very impressive. The Durham Ox gets my highest praise certainly worth a visit or a detour you will not be disappointed

We are always made to feel welcome here,we have been several times but recently we've taken a shine to the studio room above the bar,with it's beautiful bathroom, separate shower and toilet,king sized bed and balcony looking out over the stunning views of Yorkshire,the food, staff and atmosphere is all so lovely,we will return

We got married here 1yr ago today (which was amazing) and found ourselves returning again for our anniversary. The meal was gorgeous, as were the surroundings, and the staff were all friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. This is a lovely pub/restaurant, serving brilliant food that hasn’t become pretentious, like so many others in the area, it remains relaxed, friendly and fun. We spent the night in The Studio, which again was just gorgeous, and the overall experience was helped by being able to sit out on the terrace, in the late afternoon sunshine, drinking a cold glass of champagne. Overall I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

This pub in a lovely picturesque village is expensive with the main meals costing £20 or more. However it has a big beer garden, a wonderful location and the food was lovely. We had the vegan Buddha bowls. Staff were attentive. One for a special occasion!
