Noddy's Pure Breeds

Bought two Rhode Island Red 8 week old chicks both died after about 4 weeks even after a very expensive veterinary visit none of our other chickens have been affected! I informed Noddys about this situation not wanting anything other than a reply to see if anyone else had the same situation but didn’t even get an acknowledgment !! Will not be going back!!

I will review this company as fairly as possible as its not entirely bad.The woman (Linda I believe) is lovely. She has a pleasant and calm demeanour and is great with customers She is informative and incredibly patient. She was incredibly polite and has a way of making everyone feel at ease.The owner, the man (I believe his name is Rob) is needlessly aggressive and rude. There are other reviews on here to a similar effect that ring consistent with this account of his nature. I was confronted (I am not quite clear if there still if there was violent implication in his posture) by him and told that I was ‘making him angry’ because of a preference of chicken colour in front of my child. A staggering display of rudeness and (semi) violence. I was so surprised by his response, I initially thought he was joking - much to my surprise he was not.In fairness to them, the chickens are well looked after and the whole place is well maintained. I am sure that all required regulations are met.There have been times when the man has been amicable, so this may have been down to a stress level on that day but to be so mercurial and temperamental in nature does not bode well for a customer facing role. Judging by some of the other reviews on this thread, I would hazard a guess and believe that it’s probably a consistent character trait so your experience will be entirely dependent on the version of him that you meet that day.My advice then would be to choose your day wisely or go elsewhere to buy your live chickens.

This place is lovely! We picked up 4 bantams this morning and I wish we had room for more. The birds they showed us were all healthy and beautiful so it was hard to choose who to bring home. Absolutely delighted with the assistance they gave us and excited to get to know our new family members.

Great set up - healthy happy hens and expert advice at every turn. Lovely local business specialising in quality hens - our new gold lace Orpington laid us a welcome egg within hours of arriving!

We purchased 3 hens from Rob in June and loved them the moment we got them home and settled. Rob chose for us as we wanted 3 different breeds so our children knew which was theirs and by September they are all laying and they’re all different coloured eggs! He knows his stuff, every bit of advice given about the hens was spot on. Very pleased with the service and the hens. Would 100% recommend.

This was our first experience of visiting Noddy's Pure Breeds after a recommendation from a friend and we weren't disappointed. Rob and Linda were extremely helpful and experienced with their vast knowledge of chickens and really helped our decision on what chickens to buy. The chickens all looked healthy and are kept really well and we could tell that Linda and Rob were very experienced and cared for their chickens - I would definitely buy from them again and would definitely recommend them to anybody interested in purchasing chickens.

Long overdue review! We’ve bought a number of Buff Sussex and Pekin Bantams from here over the years and always had lovely quality stock. Great chatting to Rob about all things chickens!

My first time buying hens here and it will be my go to place in future. I wanted three bantams to add to my two Wyandotte bantams. Rob made sure he knew about my existing hens and selected three that he thought would suit. If it had been left to me I would have been there all day as there are so many lovely birds to choose from! He has great knowledge of his breeds and they are very well looked after. He chose a Black Orpington, a Pilkie and a Cuckoo Maran. They are lovely, happy, healthy birds and Rob was exactly right, they are beginning to integrate well, are starting to get used to me and are now called Geraldine, Alice and Mrs Cropley. Mrs Cropley (the Pilkie) is a real character and laying an egg a day already. I’m so pleased I made the journey to Noddy’s pure breeds, thank you!

It’s my first time coming here and wow it’s such a delightful place. It’s full of chickens of many different breeds.The area is so beautifully kept and the chickens are all very healthy and happy.My friend has purchased from here before but keeps coming back as she can fully trust what Linda and Rob sell.Linda does an amazing job breeding these chickens. All her time and patience definitely pays off. This couple are clearly passionate about what they have.If I could have I would have given more stars.Highly recommend.

Collected 6 lovely birds on Saturday, They all seem very heathy and have settled in very well. Rob has a very nice setup and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Highly Recommended.
