More For Dogs

Vikki at More For Dogs has helped provide a systematic approach to what seemed like an overwhelming task - adopting and nurturing two Romanian street dogs.Her training style is positive reinforcement and reward-based, making training sessions so much fun for both owner and pet. Rather than working solely with the dogs, Vikki also guides the dog owners in all-things-training, helping grow an unbreakable bond between owner and pet.The service is thorough, friendly and invaluable. I would recommend it to anyone who wants theirs to be the happiest dog.

Vikki has been working with our Boxer Lola and my family since October and I cannot praise her enough. The training that she has put in place has been amazing and Lola is so much better behaved than she was. It is now a pleasure to take Lola for a walk, which it hadn't been for many months. There is still training to be done, but with Vikki's help and guidance I know that we will have a fantastic dog at the end. Vikki is always on hand for support with queries or if a melt-down occurs (by me) if needed and I would recommend her to anyone who needs help with their dog.

We first heard about Vikki from a mutual friend, who recommended her when she found out we were going to get a puppy. Vikki was so helpful from the start and very accommodating. We met virtually during lockdown over zoom and had a couple of sessions because we couldn’t meet in person. It was so helpful having her to talk us through all our worries and questions about our puppy and her advice has been really useful and I’m sure set us up to be good dog owners in the future. It’s definitely hard work getting a puppy but so rewarding and lots of fun. Vikki has helped several family members and friends get to know and understand our doggie companions better and to share more effective ways to communicate, to build trust and to learn together! She is dedicated about her work and compassionate in how she does it! She offers practical advice and interactive support and has a real belief in the process that she guides you through!It’s like being taught a different language which once learnt and used, opens up a whole new world for you and your canine friend!Truly grateful for how she helped my doggie over his fear of visiting the Vets and being examined! Highly recommendWe were approaching the end of our tether with our nine month old Golden Retriever puppy Buddy. Having had the most wonderful Retriever previously we thought we knew about the breed and how to train them. We read books, socialised him, went to puppy training classes every week etc. etc. Everything we had done before.However, nothing we tried this time worked We decided to seek some professional help.... We will be forever grateful that it was Vikki we chose to come and help us. She is personable, professional and a great communicator.She came to our home, observed and assessed Buddy and then taught us strategies to use, tailor made for him, that really did transform our puppy and our lives, incredibly quickly.We now have a gorgeous, well behaved and contented dog and we have Vikki to thank for that.

I absolutely loved our experience with More For Dogs. I got into contact with Vikki after finding her page on Google. I read through her website and just loved how personal it felt, to know why and how she became a trainer. I could tell she genuinely cared for all dogs and only wanted what was best for them, and given that she has the same breed of dog as us, it was then that I knew she needed to be involved in our Border Collie's training. I instantly sent her a message and gave her information about our pup. She messaged me back the same day and I could tell from that first message she was super excited to meet Baloo. We decided to do the 6 week puppy class and also had a couple of 1 to 1 home sessions with Vikki. She gave us loads of helpful information about do's and dont's and what to avoid, even with regards to his diet! Safe to say, Baloo has come on leaps and bounds since we met Vikki, and without her help, support and advice, I genuinely believe our puppy would be much more of a handful than what he is now.

Vikki and James at More for Dogs are amazing and I could not recommend them enough. We did the 7 week puppy training course, which is a series of hour long weekly classes to teach you and your puppy lots of skills. Each class is really informative and pass so quickly because they are so interactive, with lots of opportunities to ask questions specific to your own needs if you want to. Nothing is too much trouble and Vikki is so knowledgeable about all things dogs!Both Vikki and James are really friendly, approachable and have an obvious love for dogs and teaching us humans how to best help us understand our pups and their needs.

Brilliantly conducted services. Every session was based around our pups basic training and different scenarios were added to each session. Compassion and helpfulness was a 10/10!Grateful for everything these guys have done for us and our four legged best friend. Thankyou!

We would thoroughly recommend Vikki’s puppy classes. They were structured, well planned and provided us with strategies that worked. Within a short space of time the puppies were able to sit, stand and lie down. Vikki’s passion for her work always shone through and nothing was too much trouble.
