Sonas Guest House

Fantastic stay, not right in the thick of it but just a short bus ride from Central Edinburgh, and close to a great whisky bar! The hosts couldn't have been more friendly or hospitable, a real warm Scottish welcome, I will definitely stay again.

Having just had an extended stay at Sonas Guest House I wanted to leave a review to say how good my visit was . Irene and Dom were so kind to me and the accommodation was excellent , spotless and bed very comfortable. Couldn’t fault it !Thank you so much Irene and Dom .

Sonas guest house is a lovely well run establishment and I would highly recommend. Me and my 11 year old daughter had a 3 night stay here recently. The room was immaculate comfortable and the beds were very comfortable also. Great price and a wonderful place to stay. Very easy to get to all the attractions. The staff are lovely and very helpful when called upon

The guest house was absolutely cute, the room very cute as well, very comfortable beds, very clean and tidy. We were offered breakfast in a bag to go every morning. Maps of the city, tour brochures, plug adaptors, complementary snacks and fruit were offered as well, along with lists of taxi numbers, food places nearby etc. It was a very enjoyable stay!!

It was fantastic! Irene and dennis made us feel like home. I found a very clean bedroom full bathroom, in nice área of Edinburgh City Center.

I had the nicest stay. I booked a couple of nights after checking out early from a filthy (and not as described!) AirBnb and the Sonas Guesthouse was exactly what I needed to heal from the dreadful AirBnb experience: the place was immaculately clean and the room super-cosy (the comfortable bed, the nice décor, the fluffy carpet; also quiet – I slept like a baby). The owner and the house-keeping staff were the nicest, most friendly folks one could ask for - made me so welcome, and even accommodated two boxes with plants I dragged with me from another part of the UK (I was in the process of moving home) and also found room to store the extra luggage I had with me. The location is great as well – easy access to the town centre by bus or on foot, yet not affected by the typical tourist crowds. Plenty of nice coffee shops and restaurants nearby, green spaces and a yoga studio within walking distance. Plus, the place seems to attract the nice type of guests as well (some great chats were had) – which made the stay even nicer. Would highly recommend. Thank you Irene and the Team.

Room was very nice, clean and a good size. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Free parking. A nice 30 minute walk to the centre of Edinburgh, made it a great location.

Our first visit to Scotland/Edinburgh and stayed at Sonas guest house. What a lovely welcome received from Irene who continued to be lovely and great to chat to throughout our stay. Our double room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. Fresh breakfast items supplied every day and tea/coffee/milk replenished when needed. I can’t rate this little Gem enough and will definitely stay here again when we next visit Edinburgh. Thank you to Irene & staff for helping to make our first trip to Scotland so enjoyable.Bernie & Tony

Very friendly hosting. Clean and cosy room. Comfortable bed. Nice neighbourhood. City centre via bus easy to go. Every day Lunch bags with food fir breakfast and snacks. Every time again i would stay in this accomodation. Thanks for all.

We booked a twin room for the last two days in Scotland (Edinburgh). Beautiful room, perhaps a bit small and decentralized (30 min walk from the city center), but with a very nice design. We had been warned by email that they would not be able to serve breakfast, but they would have provided the room with the necessary. This turned out to be a very basic kettle and paper bag with a couple of yogurts and a few biscuits. The choice of teas was also very basic. No fridge in the room but only in the breakfast room, so it was not possible to buy fruit juices, fruit, and other fresh foods for breakfast because there was no host. They sent us an email with instructions for getting in and out. We just quickly ran into a girl who was in charge of cleaning and had no information. Finally, we asked (by calling the number provided by the email) a taxi for the morning of departure. They provided US of a private driver who failed the credit card connection several times and did not remember his IBAN. We eventually paid in euros to not miss the flight.All this for the modest sum of £ 250 for two nights. Everyone draw their own conclusions.
