The Micro Computer Museum Ramsgate

On a short visit to Ramsgate found this small but wonderful museum dedicated to the history of the computer. It took me back to my days playing on my Spectrum and Amiga. Happy Days! The owners of the museum were engaging and very much provide an informative and interesting background to computers. My son (& I) enjoyed playing old Super Mario Kart, Tetris & Sonic The Hedgehog on the old consoles which visitors are welcome to play. There were many Consoles for visitors to try. Whether a younger or older visitor - this is a worthwhile place to come. Reminisce, Participate (in one or two player games) or just marvel at how computers have changed over time. Recommended.

We had a great time at this little museum. Mike and Carol were so nice and friendly, giving us lots of information about the museum and its fascinating collection. It was a real trip down memory lane, seeing all the old machines I remember from my youth - Commodore PET, Sinclair ZX80, ZX81 and Spectrum, etc. Mike was even kind enough to fire up a BBC Micro so my 11 year old computer-mad son could play the games I did as a kid! There were even some simpler games and toys to keep my 4 year old happy. As well as the huge collection of hardware (including a Sinclair C5!) there are very interesting information panels on the walls describing the earliest origins of computing concepts right up to the present day. The Micro Museum was a great trip down memory lane for me. I has a BBC micro as a young teenager in 1983, followed by by other Acorn computers. My friends had a variety of other home computers, and it was great to see all the old home computers again. It was especially good to play with a working BBC micro. Many computers are set up with games running, and the owners are super friendly and great to talk to about the exhibits. A great afternoon out!

Wow! Got to play some Spectrum classics including Halls of the Things again, have a crack on the Dreamcast and gaze in amazement at the incredible array of games, consoles, handhelds and computers that define my generation and around 50yrs of gaming. Brilliant!

Lovely, informative and friendly staff. Some classics in here along with a mix of more modern consoles (00's). Would have been cool if some of the old PC's were up and running but still a great little museum!

Such an epic collection full of nostalgia! There are numerous consoles and games available for play. It's impressive to see laid out in one place the technology timeline and visually see the growth and change within this ever evolving industry. Owners and staff are very friendly.

The Micro Museum is an excellent place to visit. It has a great collection of computers and consoles, I loved seeing the Sinclair C5. You are welcomed by the husband and wife team who are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

My kids love going, playing all the games I grew up playing, my daughter absolutely loves playing guitar hero, we have gone alot of times it's never gets boring just making great memories. Thanks to Carol and Mike.

A visit, 5 years in the making!I tried for over five years to visit, but as an Austrian, it is not around the corner. So expectations were quite high when I visited last week.The flow of nostalgia, re-visiting BASIC and the warm welcome of the custodians... I loved every second of it!Hope it does not take another 5 years to visit again.
