Good food but mixed customer service - with many teething issues.Ordered the beef suqqar, lamb hummus and spaghetti. Quality of food is good with large portions but it does take a while to provide. Customer service is not that attentive and had obtained the order wrong by providing me rice. The menu can be confusing - although this was a set menu, we weren’t allowed to order from the standard a la carte for example ordering the salmon which they made an exception. It took us 20 minutes after 3 reminders to obtain water. Despite ordering tap water with no ice, they provided us bottle water with ice, thus charging extra without being asked for it.When starters were served including the soup, no cutlery was provided. You can tell the food is good but they are not trained on customer service nor understand how to treat customers.Upon paying bill, I was unclear what the break down of price was - no receipt nor review of the pricing was done.Would I recommend this place - perhaps for takeaway, but perhaps you have to wait a lengthy period. If you can ignore the bad customer service and keep reminding them to attend to the table, you could enjoy the food, just be cautious that they may get the order incorrect which happened a few times.

Got the platter for two and the staff kindly swapped the beef for chicken. Great food and Amazing portions, by far the most interesting food in Luton they we have tried so far. Have tried Somali food in London and this was at a similar standard as Al Kahf in which is considered one of the best to do it. Have read many reviews saying service was slow and food was bland, which I thoroughly disagree with. Clearly they have turned things around and they have improved the food vastly. A comment to the staff was that I felt the green and red chilli sauce was under spiced compared to what it could and perhaps should be. I feel reading the reviews perhaps you have reduced the spice levels for the locals. My opinion would be to make it slightly more spicy! But each to their own. We had an amazing experience and cannot recommend it enough.

The first time, the food was good. Service is a bit slow, but I think the girl service was new, so she was learning, so all good. A bit heat to warm inside and some more lights will be great. Parking outside is available very close to Luton Station.

Where do I even start? Had the pleasure of having my first Somali dining experience and it was everything I could have hoped for and more! Me and my family got the family platter which I think was the best choice as we got to try everything. I also tried kinder bueno milk cake for the first time and it will not be my last! The service was amazing, the girls were very attentive to make sure we had the best experience. As we were a big group they sat us in the back which was beautiful!! Great set up and hall space for events. Overall I’m happy with the experience and will definitely be returning

Visted here while in the area with the family. We were 5 adults and 7 children and ordered 2 special platters. Service was attentive and friendly, food was delicious. Big portions, bold flavours with a balanced combination of proteins and carbs. Will definitely recommend trying. Met the manager / owner who was lovely.

Booked a table for 6 for my mums birthday and order the giant platter. The Staff went out of their way to accommodate and were so polite and friendly. Having never tried Somali food this was a first for all of us and we were totally blown away. Everything was packed with flavour, perfectly cooked and utterly delicious. The different meats were so tasty and even the sides (rice and pasta) were divine.Thank you so much Mo and to your amazing ‘Hooyo’ for an incredibly priced and perfect mealWe will definitely be coming back soon

First time trying somali food. We got the platter for 5-6 which cost £60. There was 5 adults and 2 kids. This was plenty for us. Food was tasty. A platter was the best way to try everything on the menu. I would suggest heating up the tray as half way the food got cold. The sauce pots could do with filling up as we barely had any for a large group to begin with. Service could do with some work e.g. pace/attentiveness. Overall customer service could be improved. We would visit again. A nice new addition to the Luton food scene.

Fresh and delicious Somali food - this restaurant is a hidden gem in a rather anonymous location in Luton. We particularly enjoyed the hummus and the grilled meats served with a generous side of Somali rice, salad and spicy green & red sauces.Service: the stunning young lady who served us was both friendly and attentive. If you are in Luton for business, this is a good address for lunch or dinner, as it is also very inexpensive.P.S. They also do delivery, that's how I discovered them.

The worst food I have had dining out. Decided to go out with the family for lunch for my birthday. Decided to try this place out, biggest mistake ever!!We entered about 1.30pm and were the only customers there at that time. As we were decided what to order 2 customers walked in and ordered before we did.I would say we ordered food about 1.40pm. We ordered the lamb hummus, kids chicken steak burger with chips, butterfly chicken with rice, diced beef with chips, beef steak with chips, we wanted the lasagne but they said it would be about a 30 minute wait and we refused and got the loaded fries instead. We ordered the strawberry, blueberry, passion fruit and classic mojito and water.About 20 minutes in we asked for the drinks and we were told they had no mint leaves so just waiting on that. I saw them send out a young boy to get some.About 10 minutes later the other 2 customers got their food.Waiting waiting and my youngest at this point was moaning he was hungry and my other child was thirsty. We then asked for the water and the drink that came with the kids meal. We were given the fruitshoot and 3 bottles of water complimentary as the mojitos were going to be awhile. Now it’s been 45 minutes and still no mojitos, starter or food. We ask about the food and were told it would be 5 minutes. An hour after entering we are given the starter and the mojitos. So the mint leaves that we waited for, for 50 minutes were places on the top as garnish and not even mixed into the mojitos so could have done without as not even a hint of mint was in the drink. And the lamb hummus was very greasy and the pitta hard so we had to send it back to be replaced which they did.As we were eating the starter the young boy came and asked if we wanted our food, honestly do you even need to ask!!He then goes to say sorry the food took so long it’s only because we just opened. If your advertising you’re open from 1pm then if you need more time to prep you should be in from 12pm to make sure everything is ready if any customers walk in as you open. I’m sorry but that’s not a valid reason for such a long wait. It’s very sad how the main server sent the young boy to justify the delay.Exactly 1 hour after ordering the food, the food was finally served! They gave us complimentary lasagne as the food took so long.Lasagne was standard, beef steak over cook and very chewy, diced beef ok but not much taste, loaded fries had the same diced beef on top so again tasted ok, the worst I have to say was the butterfly chicken and kids chicken steak burger. The chicken seemed like it had been fried in oil. So dry, no taste and the outer edge was hard. I would say the best thing out of the whole meal were the fried chips which I could have made at home. The portion size was decent but if the food isn’t edible then what’s the point.Would I recommend this place. Absolutely NOT!! Please don’t waste your money or your time!! I paid £66 for this food. Wish I had spent this money at toros as my children suggested instead of trying this place out. They clearly struggle catering for larger groups but definitely need to up their food quality and service if they are to survive in the catering business.
