Charles Morris Optometrists

I have been going to Charles Morris Optician since 1989. I have a complex prescription which requires a more personal touch. The service is excellent.

“Journey” was in 3 parts for me. 1. They eye test was carried out very diligently and in a friendly manner. The exam itself was unhurried & he took time to double check & confirm his findings which was re-assuring. 2. I was presented with a range of lens choices to suite my aspiration/ lifestyle / budget from the excellent Zeiss range of lenses. I chose lenses which cater for my need of lots of close work on say an IPAD, but also great for outdoor pursuits. The assistant helped me choose wisely. 3. On arrival of my completed spectacles the assistant took time to ensure the fitting was optimal & again in a non rushed way. Overall - a positive experience & I would recommend them to others. Thank you to the three employees who were involved in this journey.

Decided to use a local Optician this time after not great service in town.I was really impressed with the thorough and professional service.Very polite, patient and professional in all they did.Definitely recommended.

I booked an eye test here at short notice based on some concerns over possible rheumatological issues that could have involved my eyes. My GP pointed me to Charles Morris specifically due to their advanced testing capabilities and their broad and deep expertise.They saw me very quickly (next day) and I cannot praise the service enough. The optician doing my tests was thorough and reassuring. His personal manner was excellent and I felt he really took the time to explain to me what tests he was doing, why, and what they showed. I left feeling enormously reassured, and clear on what I can do to protect my eye health in future.I believe his name was Callum (though I may have that wrong, apologies if so). I would like to thank him personally for his excellent standard of care today. It has meant a lot to me during an anxious time.

Terrible customer service. Waited nearly 25 minutes for an appointment in an empty waiting are with 3 staff; none of whom apologised for the delay or told me that the optician was running late. After 25 minutes I had to leave as I had another appointment to get to.Of course I accept that things may happen and cause delays, but at least have the decency to be courteous and keep the customer informed.Now booked at Specsavers for tomorrow.

I went for a eye test today and was extremely disappointed by the optometrist testing my eye sight. After trying to explain what problems I was having, I was cut short by him repeatedly telling me of how much experience he has and what an expert he is. I found him extremely condescending and rude. I had to leave after trying to explain that I couldn't afford a extra £400.00 for his recommendation of varifocal Len's, only for him to once again tell me of his vast intelligence and experience he has accumulated over the years. Everyone hasa bad day I understand that, but I will most definitely not be returning

Can’t fault them - the whole team, especially the opticians are fantastic. Always friendly, and so thorough with the eye tests. As a family we wouldn’t go anywhere else!

This practice has saved my sight twice in the last 5 years. That’s not being dramatic. In both instances emergency intervention was needed to prevent losing the sight in one or both eyes. In both instances the problems were spotted and diagnosed here and I got the emergency treatment I needed which saved my sight. Expertise, qualifications, experience and knowledge are the only reasons you need to choose a skilled optometrist over a high street optician.

Don't be stupid like us and go to the big companies. You end up saying, like my wife and I did, ,we should have gone to Tony at Charles Morris!!" Superb prices
