St Catherine's Hospice

Always thought the lymphoedema team here were amazing, until recently and hence my score of only two stars.I was pretty upset to find out via letter that you had decided to get rid of just primary lymphoedema patients - any with lymphoedema because of cancer were ok to stay but we are apparently not welcome anymore and just dumped on the nhs to provide a service somewhere else.This meant that for months I had no care what so ever and no idea when or if I would be seen by a specialist lymphoedema clinic again. Thankfully the nhs did find a solution healogics in Horsham now see me as a patient twice a year but the service there isn’t the same standard of care at Catherine’s provided.At the time you dropped me as a patient I was waiting for an appointment in London for my lymphoedema to be looked into further- you did the referral as we agreed it was the best thing for me and the nhs could benefit hugely. An appointment did come through I got ready on the day to go to the appointment and something made me just phone them just to check it was still going ahead thank goodness I did phone as they had cancelled my appointment- they say they won’t see me until the referral is done again I have no idea why or what’s gone wrong but since then my care has been dropped by you and changed to a useless clinic in Horsham. It’s causing huge distress as this appointment should have been ages ago but no matter how many times I ask healogics in Horsham won’t do the referral- so maybe I should be demanding that you guys do them should I?! Since you dropped me and disrupted my care without a care in the world.I wouldn’t give a penny to your charity now not after how you treated me as a patient- too pick and choose who you care for isn’t acceptable. And to let them know by letter is so unkind - pick up the phone and give a proper explanation of what is happening if you must do this to people. Shame on you.

My brothet, Ray T. Is at the hospice. The people are so amazingly kind. They have eased his pain, comforted his family. The care is amazing. All I can say is THANK YOU

My mother and her twin sister of 90 years old died in st Catherine’s with in 2 weeks of each other the care and compassion of the doctors and nurses is unbelievable right up to the last minute for the both mum also had the careers (from st Catherine’s)out to her at home for months twice a day lovely ladies would do anything for her want to thank them all very much for there hard work and dedication chris

What a wonderful and caring group of people both in-house (ie at the hospice) and the home visiting groups: the carers and nurses.They made my Carolyn’s life so much easier:they treated her with dignity and compassion for which I will be eternally grateful.They were extremely supportive of my efforts to care for Carolyn and made my life bearable through a very anxious time.MY HEARTFELT THANKS TO YOU ALL!Michael WHITEFIELD.

Tried to donate a lovely yew wood cabinet rang up arrange collection told had to wait for call back never received 3 months later I donated to another charity

My mum was in st Catherine’s for 5 days before she sadly passed away.The staff in the hospice were incredible. The care for my mum was first class, she wanted for nothing.The empathy and compassion they showed me and my family at our most difficult time was touching.I will be supporting them as a charity for the rest of my life as a thank you for all they did.❤️❤️❤️❤️
