Phoenix House Takeaway

This is the worst Chinese meal I have ever had. It was delivered in 15 minutes. The takeaway is 6 minutes drive away. This means they spent 9 minutes preparing and packing the food.The salt and pepper squid was so overcooked it was impossible to chew it. It was beyond chewy. It was rock hard and totally inedible.The crispy seaweed wasn't crispy, it was chewy and like wire wool.The prawn toast was soggy and chewy and had hardly any sesame seeds and not much prawn flavour.All three of the above dishes had most of them thrown away. Just about all of the squid was thrown away.The egg fried rice was like boiled rice with a tiny bit of scrambled egg added. Also thrown away.The sweet and sour king prawns Hong Kong style tasted nice and was the only thing we ate besides the mushroom vermicelli which was also acceptable although the sauce with prawns was very watery.I eat Chinese takeaway fairly often but this is my first time from here and also my last. I always leave what I haven't eaten until the morning for another meal. Most of this was thrown away. I have never thrown away a Chinese takeaway meal before, and I'm appalled at the poor quality and high cost of what we bought.

Shockingly bad food! Only ordered a few bits as wasn't sure of quality...glad I didn't spend any more than I did!Food was cold and bland, phoned to enquire why it was cold, and part of order missing...thought maybe delivery driver had got delayed (sometimes happens) and actually would hav completely understood but was met with a rude abrupt person who couldn't muster up even half an apology..won't be using again..and if I cud give it - 5 stars I would.

Ordered via Just Eat. Had the worst prawn chow mein ever. Very dry. Just noodles, 1 mushroom and a few pieces of onion plus the prawns. Very bad. Chicken balls dry and sweet and sour sauce more like a set jelly. Beef and cashews better bit salty and not many cashews. Very disappointed.

Vegetarian food is lovely and the chicken chow mien was really favourable. Order salt and pepper chips and they tasted amazing. Food was well cooked

I got a takeaway on JustEat and got the Salt n Pepper starter box, chowmein, prawn dumplings. Arrived in the time allocated and was warm still. It was nice and I would order again

They've recently changed from Golden House to Phoenix House and I assumed it was just a name change but it must be change of chef/ owners too. I used to order from here regularly but this time the noodles were overcooked and mushy, the salt and pepper chips were cold, and the crispy shredded beef came swimming in red sauce and STANK of vinegar. It tasted foul. I called to see if they'd maybe sent me the wrong thing by mistake and said about the strong vinegar smell but the chef in the background was just shouting and claimed it's been done the same way as always. Which leads me to believe there must've been a change in chef because they never used to taste or even look like that before. Wasn't offered a replacement dish or a refund. The girl on the phone seemed sweet but like she didn't know what to say or do and the chef was pretty useless. I won't be ordering again which is a shame because it used to be the best Chinese in the area!

Ordered a dish via beautiful website, went to collect, store inside was looking very old and dirty, arrived at home had found ants in my food, disgusting, never never go back again, avoid this place

I enjoyed the mixed meat udon and seasme pran toast.Ordered it through deliveroo and the food came within 40-50 minutes.

Literally inedible... the worst Chinese I think I've ever had. Crispy fried beef was over battered and had a burnt flavour (not too mention it was literally drowning in sauce!), rice tasted overcooked and had a very odd texture... Was trying to notify just eat of the quality issue when I found out they have a 1 hygiene rating!! Now i wish i hadn't taken a single bite! Order elsewhere!!

Ordered food at 19.00 hours Wednesday 15th, food turned up 17.00 hours Thursday. 22hours late. Absolutely shocking. I definitely won't be using them again.
