The dr we saw was really friendly and helpful and everything in her power to make us comfortable 5 star service but some of the Nurses where not friendly and easy to talk with but the worst service is given by the Receptionist. The receptionist is rude and makes you feel uncomfortable.

Midwifes here are good! Had my baby here 4 years ago and there were no problems with care and delivery.RECEPTIONIST on the other hand was awful. The way she spoke to me was rude and hateful. Almost all of the seats downstairs in the waiting room were empty, but she told me not to sit there ('who told you to sit here?!) Instead of explaining that I can check in upstairs for my appointment where my appointment was taking place, ( and I still had an hour left) I was told that it is a big building and that I am a basically a monkey and can't sit there. That is a perfect way to treat a pregnant woman with high blood pressure! Don't really want to remember that face but think she had light, curled up hair little bit longer than shoulder lenght, was wearing a red long sleeved blouse on the day. So if you care about the health of your baby, do not approach that b****!

I’m in early stages of pregnancy and this hospital is the nearest to me for if I choose to have a baby here. I’m just absolutely shocked at the negative reviews of this place it’s actually scaring me to give birth here. My mum had me at this hospital a very long time ago like in the 90’s and at that timeAll I’ve ever heard from my mum and everyone else how nice the nurses were how much they helped and supported and how kind they were the positive feedback was never ending. But now reading these negative reviews just shows that the nurses just don’t care anymore they won’t go above and beyond and help patients anymore and I think this should be investigated. It’s frightening for us to read all this that’s going on in the maternity ward The nurses should think we all work we all do different jobs just because they are doing a midwifery job it doesn’t make them more bigger or better than anyone else. We all work hard everyone’s job is a struggle. They wanted to become a nurse and work in the maternity department then they should know apart of their job is to provide a duty of care to every single patient that enters the ward no matter what. Their job is to help and support mums and make each labour the most special as it can be. But mums who have been leaving here traumatised is not a good thing at all I feel sorry for them. For the midwife’s here just put yourself in the patients shoes if you didn’t get the support you needed during pregnancy and labour how would you feel because you’ve all had kids or will have kids and I’m sure your not any special than other moms so you should provide a duty of care to every single mum out there. I live close to this hospital and I’m already contemplating on having my baby at another hospital who has much better reviews and those nurses are actually so kind and helpful and make the labour special so when I’m choosing to give birth that’s what I’m looking for to get someone who can look after me and make my first labour special and not scary. I’d rather travel a bit far from me to get a better birth and the care I need. This maternity unit is letting the whole of the hospital down because of the same odd people who have been reported on here. Their names keep popping up on all the reviews Nurses should be named and shamed and investigated ladies if you have been let down by anyone remember you can report them there’s higher department which you can complain to.

Hi I’m just telling my experience ….my wife has been admitted in city hospital . She was due 27 October. She is now overdue and was called in to be induced on 7th November. When we arrived they said they will induce us the next day because of shortage of staff. We First they say 9 o clock your partner have to go back home. I listen first time that bcz induction time you should have somebody with you to support you. They give one table 1.00 am they said we will check after 6 hour but 12 hour gone nobody come to check. I don’t know what they are doing. All night other room womens was crying. They wasn’t come to check them. Bcz staff was sleeping in office. They don’t care about patients. They are just getting money from our taxes. I recommend to everyone don’t select this hospital ever. Staff is very rude.

*sent into pals aswell*Hi there I would like to report about my experience in serenity suite when visiting I was offered to stay at 2cm which I accepted as was in bad pain and didn't want to go back home as had an eleven month old and did not want her to see me like that.As the night went on my pain got worse one of the midwife stated ''oh get her out of here'' ''i can't deal with her'' ''don't let her near me'' my partner then was so upset he suggested asking for pain relief, they then asked me leave so I went down to normal maternity unit which was much better and staff was lovely.I have anxiety and depression disorder anyway and this made my anxiety worse. They was very rude the student midwife that was on was only approachable staff member in there. I would like to thank the staff at city hospital maternity as they helped me above and beyond and was so friendly. But as for serenity I wouldn't recommend anyone using that service. Many thanks

Some very lovely staff and some very nasty staff, too.If you’ve been allocated to this hospital as an expectant mother, I urge you to do all that’s in your power to be relocated.Unfortunately, sometimes it only takes one devil in human (midwife) form to make your labour a torture beyond what’s normal and deter you from having any further babies.

Gave it one star but didn't want to give them anything. This hospital is awful have your baby else where if you can The treatment my daughter received was disgusting for her first baby. All the staff were arguing among themselves the anesthetist was rushing to give my daughter an epidural tap in back because he had another one to do. I can't get it in he shouted midwifes making my daughter have a panic attack. Out of all the staff one midwife Shannon & a trainee midwife were lovely & supportive to my daughter. A midwife on the ward on the night shift was brilliant with her. AVOID THIS HOSPITAL

Lisa was amazing who saw me in the morning and checked up on me until ready to go to the room. Wes was lovely and calm through out, couldn’t have asked for better midwives! However, my over night stay was not pleasant, Mandy and another lady (night staff) were really rude. First time mom and had a few questions to ask and they looked at me like I was dumb. Lack of empathy for women who have just given birth, no support and feel like an inconvenience if you ask a single question.

Mixed experience at this hospital. I was induced 4 weeks ago and the proactive response from staff when I was beginning to go into labour could have been better. I went from 3cm to 10cm fairly quickly and staff were slow to act in getting me to the delivery suite, crashing the bed around corners and into doors. However the staff in the delivery suite (Charlene) and the team that carried out my postnatal surgery were fantastic and incredibly supportive and attentive and I could not be more greatful for their care. Lydia and another midwife on the HDU ward were fantastic with my postnatal care and after being moved to the postnatal ward Molly was brilliant in checking on me regularly and answering any concerns/questions.
