Awful place, we took our cat in after he had been gagging and our vet was shut for the bank holiday. We rushed him in and were told there was absolutely nothing wrong with him because he didn’t gag in the vet room. We were charged £200. Took him to our usual vet, we were told he had an infection, had to be put under and a string of rubber consistency stuff was pulled out of his nose. I want my money back from Godstone for telling me there was nothing wrong. They care more about money than they do the animal.

I used this as out of hours for my dog 18 months ago. She was admitted as we were waiting on a heart scan and we we needed to put her somewhere overnight for monitoring whilst waiting for a vet specialist to perform a heart scan as they couldn't provide this at the centre. We were informed she was doing really well in the evening and completely stable - in fact were told everything was completely normal and she was very well! We were then were given the same update in the morning before we went to collect her. Full of optimism I collected her. ....She took about 5 paces when they handed her over to me and then my dog collapsed before we could even get her to the car. I called reception requesting help and a vet came out and told me she wasn't working overnight but it was very clear that my dog was very unwell and couldn't be transferred to a scan until she was stable. Eventually we managed to move her to another vet as we lost all confidence and transported her to the heart scanner in south croydon where we were told it was too late. Her heart valve was completely ruptured by this point and the other was thickened. If it hadn't have ruptured she would still be alive today and could have been operated on. My dog was 6 years old! I am certain the lack of care provided at this vets killed her and meant we could not intervene in time as the rupture happened while under their care. It seemed they hadn't noticed this!To make matters even worse they had the nerve to call me that evening to insist on payment. I told them my dog had just died and it was really insensitive and inappropriate to chase me.I thought perhaps at the time we were unlucky, however after investigating some more it seems there are a large number of owners locally who have experienced the same incompetence at the hands of this centre. I wish I had reported this sooner and got a full autopsy done to prove that their negligence killed my dog.Since this has now happened to a very good friend of mine a young, healthy dog who went for a standard procedure I feel compelled to write this review to warn others.I have no doubt that vets come to work and want to do their best. I have friends who are veterinary nurses. But there is a pattern of poor diagnosis, monitoring and lack of care at this veterinary referral centre which seems to still be ongoing even 18 months since we lost our girl.My advice - Take your dogs to this place at your own risk. If your dog dies suddenly when you've taken it for a routine procedure please request all the paperwork to be passed to you, get an independent autopsy done on your dog and share your experience and feedback with the royal veterinary college so a proper investigation can be done.I hope by reading this review it stops 1 person from taking their dog to this place and hopefully prevents another dog from dying at the hands of these 'specialists'

Didn't do a thorough check on our cat who had crystals in his bladder. Picked up by other vet at which point was too late and unfortunately he passed a month later. Had just given us pain relief but hadn't actually done anything. More concerned with covid it seems as we weren't even allowed in, even though the other vets let us in.

A wonderful caring practice. Staff take the time to talk you through everything that's going to happen with your pet. Calm and considerate to your animals need and compassionate about your needs at a very difficult and stressful time.

This was the second time we have had to use VRC and as always the service we have received has been second to none. The appointment was within 2 hours of the referral. Murphy, our dog, was thoroughly examined, his condition and options clearly explained to us. The procedure was then carried out the same day and Murphy safely back home the following day.Thank you so much VRC.

We were referred recently for our cat who hadn't been well for a while. They were amazing and were able to diagnose him very quickly. Kaye explained everything and was honest about the outcomes as hard as it was to hear. Thank you all so much, we appreciate everything you did for Gherkin, who sadly is no longer with us.

Our 13 yr old dog Toby had a major operation at our vets 2/8/21 and needed to have overnight care which our vets didn't provide so they made arrangements for us to take him to the Godstone Referral Centre. It seems that these days it's up to us to transport our dogs/animals to overnight care after a major operation. On arrival (18.40) we were told that the vet didn't start until 7pm and to wait outside under the Gazebo until they started. Now, considering this is a 24hr center, there was a vet inside but they wouldn't let Toby in to keep him warm. We saw three other members of staff through the door, one of which was hoovering the floor and another just wandering around. Instead our Toby had to stand on a cold concrete pavement, as he wasn't comfortable sitting, having just had a major operation for a twisted intestine/colon. After 15 mins of getting wound up about this, we decided to take him to the animal hospital in Wimbledon where, although we had to wait, was taken into the warm and kept an eye on and, it turned out to be a two night stay for Toby. It appeared Godstone Referral were more concerned about money - actually I'm not sure what they were more concerned about but it definitely wasn't Toby's welfare! I wouldn't recommend this centre if you care about your pet and, next time will travel the extra distance to take our dogs anywhere but here.

I want to express my gratefulness to this clinic for such amazing pet care and customer service. They were very patient with our dog Bonnie and gave her all the care she needed including the little details. The previous clinic that we took our dog to told us to put her down, however when we transferred her to this veterinary clinic they treated her and said that she will be fine! Special thanks to the amazing staff, very nice and polite. The clinic also has reasonable pricing. I am very happy that I found this clinic. Thank you very much to everyone that cared for Bonnie, especially Dr John for giving her the right treatment and bringing the good news! It’s been nearly two weeks and Bonnie is already running around as if nothing has happened.

Our French Bulldog Bruno visited today after being referred from his usual amazing vets. From the moment I got there I was treated so kindly by the 2 lovely ladies at the reception area. They made me feel welcome and comfortable. Next, I met John. Who I had a long chat with and who assessed Bruno. John was able to tell me what Bruno is likely to have. He explained to me with great detail with likelihood and unlikelihoods, pros and cons and possibilities of what could happen during & after he’s procedure. He is very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable leaving Bruno in his care as I knew he was in such good hands.Bruno had an MRI scan and the outcome was what we expected. He is on antibiotics and is safe at home, with us, he’s family.I could not fault John, the lovely receptionists and the lovely nurse that bought Bruno out enough. What a lovely, generous and caring team.I’d recommend this centre to anyone.Thankyou once again!!
