St Mary the Virgin - A Church Near You | We are the “Church on the Hill” serving God’s people in Carisbrooke. We are a “middle of the road” Anglican church with regular Sunday Services. Everyone is welome. We are part of the newly formed parish of Newport and Carisbooke with Gatcombe which is comprised of Newport Minster, St John’s, St Mary,s, St Nicholas in Castro and St Olave’s Gatcombe. The parish is part of the Deanery of the Isle of Wight in the Diocese of Portsmouth. Safe from harm The parish of Newport Minster, Saint John and Carisbrooke is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs.
