I'll make this as short as possible. I understand that one person doesn't make much sense for someone to give a one star review for a company, but this is a specific circumstance and you've got an absolute cowboy on your team that you should seriously keep an eye on.His name is Conor SmithHe did the electrical work on my attic conversion with no EICR certificate, claiming that it was C Hanlon that should deal with it. He did this work over a few weekends as a homer but I think C Hanlon should either crack down on this or make sure that their engineers have valid and current certs when doing any kind of work. This became a huge problem as the council refused to sign off my attic conversion/project unless I could get Conor to could come up with a certificate.Eventually, I had no choice and had to get a different electrician to do a full check of our home and got a pass from the council.Conor had such a bad attitude when I was trying to explain this to him initially, telling me that his old outdated card should be fine. He said that he'd pay for our new EICR but I was too soft and told him that it wasn't necessary and that he could maybe help us out with some other work in future. I then reached out to him to help fix a couple of lights and realised that he had blocked my number, so I couldn't contact him anymore. We've had several dangerous electrical faults since. 2 light switches that we can't even use anymore. He did the work over a year ago and I'm not even sure our home is currently safe.

This company did work for my parents and it was the start of a six year disaster dealing with them. They fitted a shower and cubicle at a cost of around £1500 in 2015.The shower was leaking from the start but it was only noticed by my parents - who are pensioners - when the ceiling downstairs showed signs of dampness. Hanlons came out and said they fixed the leak and charged for the job. The leak continued and Hanlons came out again and said they fixed it this time, and again charged for the job but made no offer to pay for damage to the downstairs ceiling which now had more water damage. The shower continued to leak and the manager came out for the third attempt to fix the leak, He assured my parents it was fixed properly but still no offer to pay for the considerable damage to the ceiling downstairs.Needless to say the shower continued to leak.At this stage the downstairs ceiling was ready to fall down, so having had such a poor service from Hanlons, my parents got another company in who fixed the shower leak first time at a cost of 650 pounds. They said Hanlons had never fitted the cubicle properly and there had always been a slight gap that caused the leak.We also had to get a plasterer out who fixed the ceiling for £290, so the total repair cost so far is & 940. We still need to get the downstairs room repapered and painted due to water damage.I have been in touch with the manager at Hanlons looking for compensation, as the insurance company will not pay for the repairs as it is a breach of contract by Hanlons under the Consumer rights act 2015, as the job was never done properly in the first place. After sending several letters to various people, I got a reply from a Mr Patterson who gave me a bunch of political answers but never made any offer to compensate us or even apologise for the shocking service. This company are a bunch of cowboys and should be avoided at all

I had Chanlon come out as part of a boiler replacement offered by Eon which was removing an old standard boiler and hot water tank to a new worcester combi boiler and I couldn't have asked for a better job. The lads that came out Darren Kirkpatrick and an course worker on placement did a fantastic job. When being initially quoted by Eon they had stated that carpets etc would need to be lifted and a new pipe fitted under the first floor landing which I was a bit apprehensive about however the lads managed to source a pipe from my old boiler in the kitchen which would feed the gas to the new boiler upstairs without having to lift any floors etc. The 2 days they were round they were on time first thing in the morning and didn't leave until late. They also rang the gas board to sort an issue with my shut off valve to ensure everything was safe and ready before turning the new boiler on. C Hanlon also had an Electrician and Roofers come out and they also done a cracking job. All workers were friendly and kept me well informed and would definitely use them again. Best of luck to the lad on placement as his work was great for someone technically in training. Thanks again

If your employees driving is any reflection of the work you do; I’ll never use your company. Absolute rockets with no regard to other road users.

This company should be avoided at all costs.Work carried out has been absolutely unsatisfactory from the get go. New floors and walls are uneven, tiling has significant lippage and generally the standard is extremely poor. We were not issued an electrical safety certificate - and with sockets having huge gaps behind them, don’t think I would get one anyway! Most of their so called ‘tradesman’ need retrained / re-skilled and require to be watched at all times if in your property. Also if they are left with keys make sure they use them to lock your property of an evening, as my home was not on several occasions. The management are out their depth when it comes to any solutions or problem solving.Anyone with future worked booked with them I’d advise strongly to cancel and look elsewhere or your property is likely to be left in a poorer state than it began.

Had a wee issue with Mice and had Benny the pest controller come out. Couldn't be happier, only 3 visits and no problems at all now. Benny himself could not have been more friendly, insightful and simply darling. 10/10 mind is completely at rest

C.Hanlon were professional, courteous and very hard working and were instrumental in putting our house back together and making it feel like home once again. They were very obliging and always went that extra mile. Highly recommended. Barry Fitzsimmon, Alan Harkin and Ross Cooper and their teams were faultless, thankyou.

By far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Terrible quality of workmanship and non-existent customer service. After forking out £500 for them to fix a leak, we found that rather than the 4m of new piping quoted, we'd been charged £100 for 60cm of copper pipe. The rest of the £500 was for a condensate pump which they insisted was necessary to resolve the leak. A few months after completing the repair, a futher leak developed in a joint they had made with a pre-existing pipe whilst installing their condensate pump. We had them out and a temporary repair was carried out on 3rd January 2021 and have heard nothing for four months. All contact has been ignored, save for a one line email offering £50 for us to go away. If you need work done, find a good local plumber or engineer, avoid C.Hanlon.
