Lovely house and well kept estate. Very friendly, polite and helpful staff from the entrance into the house. The information available in the house made interesting reading about the history of the family and estate.Free car park & house entry for National Trust members. Costs for non members on the website. Was lovely to see the deer close to Newton House, we got some lovely photos.

Had a fantastic day at Newton House. Lovely gardens and scenery, a beautiful house full of history, wonderful staff and a great cafe. What really made our day was meeting Nigel and Wendy, two of the Trusts volunteers who took the time to show us around and point out many interesting facts about the house that we'd otherwise have missed. I can't say thank you" enough

We visited both the National Trust House/Hall and the Castle. The house isn't huge but it is lovely to see. It's a free to roam tour and a cafe inside and outside seating. The castle is on the same Estate, at the top of a pretty steep climb but well worth it. Slow and steady. You can walk the castle walls and see the spectacular views. We had a beautiful weather day and saw for miles all around. The walk through the deer park and boardwalk was so peaceful (late in the day) the birds were enjoying the evening sun too. We didn't see any deer sadly but there were hoof marks all over.A bonus was the first Bluebells opening I've seen this year.Plenty of toilets and other estate walks too.

Although the exterior of the house and the setting are beautiful, it’s really not worth paying to see the inside as it’s been changed within the last few years to be more of a museum with exhibits. Some of the rooms are almost bare as the majority of furnishings have been removed. The upmost floor is roped off and the National Trust shop, which used to sell souvenirs and venison from the Dinefwr deer, has been permanently closed. There is a library of used books for sale which seems out of place. Such a shame to have made these changes. Adding an outdoor window to sell food and drink from the tearoom was a good idea, however, as it really isn’t worth paying an entrance fee to wander through a few rooms and have a meal inside.

What amazing staff, they made the place come alive. Telling us stories of cats buried in the floorboards for good luck, mysterious figures in paintings, a man who looks like 2 different figures in one painting and the blue boy ghost. We even got to sit on Downton Abbey sofas. Truly magical. Thankyou so much

Amazing magestic place, lots of wide open space to enjoy walks, exploring. Lots of history at the house and staff are fantastic. Will definately be our place to go to blow away the cobwebs.

Great property with fantastic grounds. Property nicely presented reflecting Georgian (1920s I think) times with some previous and more recent (WWII) exhibits too. Upstairs being updated while I was there (Jan 2020) so a little sparse. Very helpful volunteers. Well documented history in most rooms. Has a cafe though I didn't have time to visit. The star of the show though has to be the grounds - they are superb with lovely walks. I followed a Derek the Weatherman" route that takes in the castle

A lovely house which is dog friendly in the ground floor of the house and in the cafe. The day we went to Newton House, there was a limited menu in the cafe so we had sausage rolls and a cornish pasty. The hot chocolate was delicious! Most the the paths were fairly decent, allowing for a mobility scooter to come with us on a walk.

The house was really interesting to look around. The grounds are great and the boardwalk was something different I liked the pond at the end of the boardwalk where I watched the birds swooping down and catching the insects. The views from the top of the castle are really spectacular as well.
