Excellent service from the maternity ward especially Maria and Julia. They are credit to the NHS. You get 5 star treatment from the maternity ward, expecting mothers have access to a large private room with regular care from midwives, nurses, doctors and consultants. Healthy food is also served at meal times. In a private hospital, delivering a baby in this environment will cost you thousands of pounds.

Had my baby girl on the labour ward here in May. I transferred here from Whipps Cross as had heard great things about the birth centre. Unfortunately on the day I went into labour the north centre was closed due to staff shortages but the midwives did everything they could to give me the birth I wanted. They followed my birth plan and when things didn’t go to plan they made sure I was fully informed and let me speak to the doctors to ask any questions I had. Soela, thr midwife who spent the majority of my labour with me was fantastic. Really friendly and made sure I was comfortable. When her shift finished Beontay and a few others (I can’t remember all the names), delivered my baby girl. I can’t say thank you enough as despite my birth not going as planned I still had a really positive birth experience.

Second experience here. It assured me how badly treatment care is here. Being NHS Nurse Staff I’m really disappointed. Security staffs think they’re clubs bouncers. Extremely disrespectful. None of the value of those who boast are applied. I hope this can avoid a horrible experience to someone else. Please do not get any service from this Hospital. Specially Maternity ward

In a very bad hospital, my wife is not satisfied at all. They are behaving very badly. They don't turn any attention. My wife had a very heavy birth and no one cares. It hits a tone. They come exactly 3 hours later and ask. What are you saying? However, they do not attract attention, it is a very bad hospital. I would not recommend it to anyone.

I'm pregnant and unwell and I called the maternity team to see if I can be seen, I just moved into the area from Barnet and these people told me to just go to Barnet Hospital??? Why would I go there when Middlesex Hospital is 5 min away? Amazing" service. Thanks"

I am writing to express my disappointment with the care my wife and I received during her recent stay at North Middlesex maternity. We were initially impressed with the care provided by Monica, but we were later disappointed by the care provided by Gilda, the manager. She was rude, dismissive, and completely uncompassionate. She sets the standard for rest of them so you can imagine the midwives are awful. The overall atmosphere at the hospital felt more like a prison than a hospital as your in a room with no windows, with staff more interested in watching TV shows and discussing their holidays than providing care to patients. We would not recommend this hospital to others, especially for a delicate time such as childbirth.

I had my son there. (1 year ago) I left this review on Google North middlesex hospital. But I want alert another moms. They almost let my son died. Just because they refuse to do cesarean. I wasn't dilating even with regular contractions about 21 hours. I asked for epidural but the doctor wasn't there and when I was having contraction every 2 minutes they offered but I could stay in that position of course it should be done earlier. My son had a meconium aspiration and 6 cardiopulmonary arrest. He is alive because of God and everything could be avoid if they had made cesarean. My baby was macrosomic and they knew that anyway they insisted to do natural birth. It was so traumatic that I don't want to have more kids.

This hospital has great facilities. We have just had our first child and cannot fault these Although there are severe issues with understaffing and the mentality of some staff. My wife chose an elective c section. On every single visit for 9 months they would push for a natural birth... not sure if this is a general NHS incentive, but we answered the same questions over 100 times. It got a little too much. (Multiple times at the same visit.) The c-section went well and care during procedure was fantastic. I cannot fault the team. The issues came in the maternity ward. My wife didn't need constant support, although I always question whether leaving a mother and baby for over 5/6 hours at a time without checking on them is normal practice. The Dr visited at 8am (all OK), the midwife only came round at about 1 in the afternoon to fill some forms after that, baby checked at 6pm by Dr and cleared to leave. My wife then waited around again for midwife to discharge her for another 3 hours... all we were told... she'll be here soon. A lot of people walking around but no one really knew what was happening. I don't want to blame the professionalism of the midwives... I just think that they are being run ragged. I am thankful for the NHS and all its workers and so thankful they helped deliver our little girl. The above is just my experience... with another one or two midwives, they could clear beds quicker and improve experience for the mums.
