After being diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia and told it's a 12 month wait just to see a consultant on the NHS. I had no choice other than to go private and fund myself being in manual work. After much research I contacted Oxford Hernia Clinic. Response was very quick with Greg Sadler. I was lucky and had a cancelation. I was very nervous about the operation, as I have never had surgery before. Greg explained everything to me before hand. The day and operation went just as Greg had explained, the team were fantastic I felt no pain and 2 hours total in hospital. Post op I did have some pain and discomfort but being able to contact Greg for reassurance has been fantastic. I feel so reassured knowing my surgeon Greg is an expert in hernia operations with years of experience. I would highly recommend Greg and his team at Oxford Hernia Clinic.Kind regards Rich

Greg and team were absolutely top notch! I had 2 hernias to sort out and everything couldn't have gone better than it did.I traveled down from Lancashire by train the evening before and was first in line for surgery early the next morning. In total, I believe I was there for roughly 2 hours only! I was told I wouldn't have any pain for a good 10-12 hours post surgery and sure enough, my 4-hour return journey was pain-free!It's now been 7 weeks since surgery and I've returned to most activities (going back to the gym next week). Personally, I've not experienced much pain post surgery and other than taking ibuprofen and paracetamol (purely to keep any discomfort at bay) for about a week, I've not been on any medication. I've healed up nicely and have had no issues whatsoever.I see some reviewers mention price. I was quoted by my local surgeon (who wasn't a hernia surgeon/specialist) over £1000 more than Greg but, it wasn't just the price that won me over. It was the fact that Greg has done thousands of hernia surgeries, that he uses local instead of general anaesthetic, and that I would be able to leave that same day. It was a journey to get there and back but, I am so happy I chose Oxford Hernia Clinic.Thank you Greg et al for everything!I highly recommend Oxford Hernia Clinic and happily rate it a 5-star experience.Scott

It has been nearly 5 months since my hernia operation was undertaken by Greg and the team, after 6-8 weeks I was back to normal work activities/exercise and since then everything has been great. When I was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia whilst on holiday in Zambia, Penny, my wife, researched possible venues for a repair and the Oxford Hernia Clinic seemed to be the best solution.The efficiency and friendliness was such that the procedure was bordering on pleasant relaxation for me even though our stay at the clinic was less than three hours in total.Greg, Mark and the whole team were so helpful all through the entire process and the explanation of what steps to take along the road to recovery so clear and accurate that, five weeks on, I’m just about back to full strength and would happily recommend the service to anyone with a similar condition.John Finerty

I'm three-and-a-half months post hernia surgery. It was a simple RHS inguinal repair but if the ease and professionalism of the Oxford Hernia Clinic are anything to go by, you'll be in the best hands whatever type or seriousness your hernia. This was my first foray into private medicine and the search for a surgeon was undertaken with a heavy heart, but OHC quickly caught my eye by virtue of their concise yet comprehensive, helpful and bang up-to-date website which made other providers' shop windows look second-rate. Do not be suspicious that the highly competitive price is an indicator of poor quality - the surgery experience couldn't have been better. A model of efficiency. All the theatre team were courteous and put me at my ease but especial thanks to Greg - a skilled but busy man who fielded a lot of queries with patience - and to Mark, the anaesthetist, who does his job very well. With the practise's post-operative care notes I'm three months on with a barely visible surface scar and subsurface scar tissue also scarcely detectable through massage. Big thanks to all concerned.

Really impressive clinic .Excellent communication and my experience on the day of the surgery was faultless, followed by a straightforward recovery so far [currently 3 weeks post op ]. Greg and the team are absolutely outstanding.

I can’t thank Greg and his marvellous team enough for doing a great job with my inguinal hernia surgery just a week ago. I was in and out within 90 minutes with the warning I should expect minimal pain, some bruising and a degree of swelling during the early stages of my recovery. Seven days on, the only thing I’ve experienced is a little discomfort, but no pain, bruising or swelling. I’ll be removing the steri strips this evening and will be surprised if I even discover a scar! As per Greg’s instructions, I’m taking things slow and easy, but I’m starting to increase my daily walking and I’m confident I can look forward to getting my active life back to normal in a few weeks. If you’re looking for hernia repair surgery I can’t recommend Oxford Hernia Clinic highly enough.

Greg Sadler and Team combine their skills & expertise to provide a highly professional, caring and excellent service. I would recommend them to any one in need of a Hernia repair, and have done so already. I was first in at 08:00 and on my way home at 10:00. Brilliant.
