Amazing food, the best Sunday roast I've ever had. Service was very good and fast. Price was very reasonable for the quality of food. Only thing I could pick at is the cashless system and 7.5% tip automatically being added to the bill. I understand it says please ask if you wish for it to be removed " but I should imagine some people may feel uncomfortable asking for that. 7.5% is also quite alot. For the 3 of us who had a drink each

The setting is lovely. The staff excellent, polite and helpful. However, it only gets 3☆. The carvery was OK but the chef needed to cut and grill our beef because we didn't want it with blood. The turkey and bacon joint were fine. But for £17 lamb and pork would be nice to have. Also the roast potatoes were too hard to cut presumably because they had stood too long and the stuffing was inedible as these cubes were rock solid. Even picking them up you needed to use your fingers and you couldn't crunch them with your teeth as they were far too hard. We informed a manager who removed them from the carvery buffet - bit too late then. Cocktails are expensive and service for drinks afterwards slow. We could see our drinks on the bar but needed to wait quite a while for someone to bring them over to us. And it wasn't busy. We had breakfast there the next morning and this was OK but again food had stood too long. Eggs were like plastic and bacon bit chewy. Sausages were lovely as were the mushrooms and fried bread. Good selection of breakfast food but bread limited to brown or white toast. Don't get me wrong it was a hearty and tasty full English breakfast just not quite up to our expectations of a 4☆ hotel.

Visited for afternoon tea whist staying at the hotel. It was absolutely brilliant!First of all I wish I could remember his name but the gentleman who seated and served us was really great! He was attentive, funny and just a pleasant guy. Then or the afternoon tea itself, I couldn't fault any of it! Every aspect of it was thoroughly delicious and I would highly recommend it.We will definitely be back!

Stayed here with my boyfriend for two nights and went to Palm Court for both dinners. The food is incredible. It’s not a Michelin star restaurant but I would put it along the same category. There are live performances on Friday night as well. The ambience and deco are right on the point, relaxing yet elegant. Recommended for any romantic occasions.

Ordered focaccia - was given a slightly thicker slice of toast(£5.95). If anything it was amusing enough to be worth the money. Great staff / ambiance, however sub standard food (and that’s ignoring the price point which is criminal for the quality) see pic below.

Treated to a delightful Afternoon Tea in the Palm Court. The decor and atmosphere is very elegant, transports you back to the 1920s art deco era. The food was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. Great choice of very delicate patisseries and sandwiches. They were happy to serve food separately due to an allergy and amend some of the choices for us. Great service throughout the whole experience. My only complaint is the scones, very doughy and tough to chew, they stick to the roof of your mouth. Other than that the afternoon was perfect.

Visited this place for afternoon tea and we were very impressed with the place, the sparkling afternoon tea was very tasty, the service was exemplary we were asked if we would like an extra tea or coffee. We felt really pampered. We sat by a lovely fountain in a lovely setting with a piano playing behind us.Sparkling afternoon tea for two costs £33.00.
