Rowe's Cornish Bakers Torquay

Lovely pasty, great service. Devonian father and his spawn were very satisfied with the pasties. I am leaving a review, however, because of the great service. My better half dropped a pasty on the shop floor while walking out of the shop. Gutted, we turned to buy another, only to have a fresh one handed to us for FREE by the proprietress. She wouldn't accept a penny for it. The pasties are worth the recommendation, but the service also merits a special mention.

Came for a lunch treat during our visit to Torbay.The friendliest staff I've ever been served by. Ordered a large pasty and it was massive! Chocolate donuts were a great treat.

The steak and doombar pasty was the worse pasty have ever had,No meat and no flavour. A complete waste of £3On the other hand the Danish pastries were delicious, moist just enough currents and Almonds well worth 2 for £1.50

Bought 5 of these pasties home from Cornwall after spending a week there and tasting 4 different types of different make of pasty, these were the worst. Could not taste what was in them, just pepper and lots of it. Will never buy again

Every time I come here I'm met by different but always friendly staff. Great selection at decent prices. I much prefer this establishment to the multiple other pastry/bakery shops in Torquay town centre.I went in a couple weeks ago and was given a freebie lemon drizzle cake. Well I'm now hooked and will happily pay the £1.25 for my new favourite treat. Highly recommend

£5.50 for pasty, drink +2 large cookies was good value. But the taste of the filling. Purely traditional and perfectly seasoned. Pastry was light even the crusts and not at all greasy. Just as good as my Cornish mother :) Ginsters take note there is no coriander in the traditional recipe. 20% of people taste soap when eating it.

I decided to give the bakery located in Shepton mallet Tesco a try. I purchased 2 cheese and bacon pasties and 1 chilli and beef pasty. Equaling a total cost of £12, which is slightly on the pricey side. Biting into the cheese and bacon I was met with an odd bland taste, it certainly didn't taste like cheese and bacon. It tasted more like a unseasoned, dry mashed potato, with big chunks of mature cheddar, which is simply to heavy. Unfortunately I was unable to finish it and passed it onto my partner to try. She was able to eat it, but clarified that she wouldn't purchase again.I then, in an attempt to fulfil my appetite tried the chilli beef pasty. Unfortunately the taste was yet again a let down. A dry pastry stuffed with an incomprehensibly dry sauce, predominantly consisting of kidney beans and peppers, with an overpowering dry hotness. Again I was unable to finish consumption.I am now left unsatisfied with the same appetite for good quality food.In conclusion, I will certainly not be purchasing from this bakery again.

Love the pasties, my children always want more, especially the vegan curry. Last year we were here too, we got 2 for £5 but this year its 2 for £6.50 but still they taste real good. Would recommend to any. The staff are really friendly too. They close at 3pm so don't leave it too late.
