Mixed feelings here. Just had flooring in kitchen laid and it looks very good, so no complaints (so far anyway).Not so good in the lead up though. Firstly the estimator rang to ask if he could come early in the morning as apposed to the afternoon which we had requested, but we agreed.You can't take home samples so when the estimator came, with the one I chose, I didn't like it. Therefore back to the shop to choose another. We settled on one and paid and made booking for fitters. We were told it would take two days.Paul turned up to remove tiles and replace underfloor ready for another fitter coming the next day. He then tells us taking up the floor is quite unnecessary as the laminate can be laid straight on the top. To his credit Paul saved us £150 his fee and £40 disposal (yet to be reimbursed from Clarkes). He was cross that he made a journey for nothing.Jay and son came today and fitted the floor which I am happy with.Apart from being charged for something not necessary, a couple of things would have made the experience better.1) We didn't know there would be different men, one to do the underfloor and two to lay the top and they would both be paid separately. We were just quoted one price.2) Clarkes never told what time to expect our workmen so yesterday we were up for 8am in case he showed up then, but as he hadn't arrived by 11.30am I rang the shop to be told his slot was 10am to 12pm, so this info would have been nice beforehand.

Went in to have a look at the carpets and I wished for a consultation, wandered nearly 20 minutes around but no one even bothered to look at me or ask what I need. There were 3 staffs at that moment and I totally understand that they were attending to other customers but no harm if they said Please wait for a moment.So the only 1 star is for the range of the carpets which is nice. That's all.

My family have used this company for over 40 years the owner came round mine and said the work will be two days which was absolutely rubbish so £350 i paid so then I got the two guys what turned up THE MOST RUSHED UNEVEN work I’ve EVER had left most of the old carpet in pieces under the new carpet cut through my tv Ariel all in 2 hours the carpet on the stairs started coming up from the corners the carpet fitter obviously didn’t use nowhere near enough glue but what was worse he would look at you till your blue in the face and NOT put his hands up THE WORST CARPET FITTING experience IVE EVER HAD THREE TIMES he had to come back to my property NEVER EVER will I use this company again AND AS FOR WAYNE THE CARPET FITTER the WORST in Essex!!!!!

Excellent service all the way through. Highly recommended. The highest standard of customer care, and a very competitive price. My first choice for carpets and flooring from now on.

On the 30th December 2022 mark the fitter came to fit the carpets we purchased from Clarke carpets at Roneo corner he’s attention to detail was perfect we had just decorated he was very careful and the end result was perfectThank you Steve & Rita

My wife & I went to this store to look at some differing rolls of Vinyl & carpets to upgrade the home the store staff were very friendly & approachable & showed us the vast options that we had available to us. We have now arranged for a measure up of the home & will be looking to purchase our carpets & vinyl from them. Thank you Clarkes Carpets for your help today!!

Fantastic selection and good prices. The best bit for me was the customer service - Ben who helped me to purchase the carpet and the lovely carpet fitting team who couldn’t have been nicer, more professional or any quicker! Excellent, high quality work and my carpet looks and feels beautiful. Really happy. Thanks guys! (Hasn’t been hoovered yet in the pic - it’s freshly laid)

I do not recommend Clarkes at all for wooden flooring. They can't do 'intricate' work, such as step parts or finishing around a fireplace. I was told a fitter would phone me back to see if it could be done and I heard nothing. Absolutely ridiculous service and a complete waste of my time dealing with them.

Very impressed with this store. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend!
