Lovely coffee and great service with picking up an online order the same day! Wish I had a bit more time to stick around and chat. I'll be making some time to do so when I make my next order

Been getting my coffee from Nik for 4 years now. The Nicaragua and Signature blend are superb but everything they do is great, both in my bean to cup machine and v60 methodFor avid coffee fans id go for the rolling blend/single origin subscription where the beans change every monthYou can save by collecting if you live locally which i reccomened as its always nice to chat to the guys and take a peek how it's all made!

I've been meaning to leave a review for Salford Roasters for a few months and keep forgetting! So while I'm enjoying a cup of the 'Uganda', I'd like to share my appreciation! The short version:Lovely people, fantastic coffee! The long version:While I've always loved/depended on coffee, I've also typically always procured it by the cup at one of a number of the big high street chains. What started as an exeriment in saving money by shelling out on a proper espresso machine has turned into a revolution! (That's said, my machine is amateurish compared to the one in the cafe here!)I now only visit those chains in a pinch or when away from home. What even is the difference?!It's night and day.I wouldn't really be the type to be able to recognise tasting notes in wine or beer so I was somewhat sceptical of the tasting notes on the coffee descriptions but I would defy anybody to say they can't taste the difference between the dark and smokey 'Cuba' and the lighter, creamier 'Uganda'.As for the coffee served to the masses, I'm now aware just how inconsistent the results are at those huge chains and when I do have to go to them, it makes me desperately miss my own coffee! For the avoidance of doubt:I've tried several other local roasters across this city and been gifted beans from further afield in the last few months and, so far, I'm always impatient to get back on SR beans! I've tried 6 of their roasts and have loved them all. The Cuba is probably my favourite to date but I'm only 1 cup into the Uganda and it could be a contender! The team at Salford Roasters are always really welcoming and personable. I'd absolutely recommend collecting if you're local so you can meet the craftspeople who roast your beans - they'll happily chat and give advice! If my review smacks of coffee-snobbery, please, stay open-minded and try a cup of Salford Roasters and experience your own coffee revolution!

I’ve been buying my coffee from Salford Roasters for 3+ years & they’re consistently excellent. I’ve switched to their monthly subscription service now, which doesn’t disappoint & I’m happy to trust their recommendations.Always top quality beans (plus sometimes ground for pour over).Currently enjoying The Salfordian.Excellent customer service as well.

Here is my very long story to how we found Salford roaster.I spent a lot of time in Malta as a child and it was fine for me to have a cappuccino. The memories of the older folk putting the world to rights over an espresso and they would let me have a cheeky sip.In the UK, coffee was a grown ups drink plus all that was available was instant, it was mid 80s.We had recently bought a small espresso machine, a hand grinder and a few bits to try a find this taste and emotion I had tried to pass to my family.I bought some cheap Asda beans and it wasn't as bad as thought but did hold some of all that others don't like (ashy, sour, biting).I'd watched way too much YouTube to learn and we decided to try and find a good independent roaster for many reasons.Primary reason, the belief that the growers are generally squeezed to extract as much money for the big boys and we felt that this is not the case with many independents. We also wanted to support independent business although, my experience of some coffee houses has been a pompous, exclusive, stuck up atmosphere. The roasters we had seen on YouTube were south based but we wanted to help a local business.I had found a Manchester roaster and felt that was as local as I was going to find and was about to order then my son recalled a local store that stocked a local coffee. The store had closed down but my son had a photo he had taken to show me and so we looked for and found your website.Your story is interesting on the website and I couldn't of found a more local roaster. I'm not a massive coffee drinker and to me is like my whisky, a good enjoyable moment. After I came home with my first order the family wanted to try this 'so called' real coffee. With a prayer that this will be a night and day experience, I opened the Rialto blend. Here was the first shock to those around, the coffee smelt devine. The words were, it smells warm and roasted, a sweet and inviting aroma, like a camp fire... ( My whole family are coffee experts all of a sudden)I spent too long making the family coffees, I made two lattes and a cappuccino before getting to mine. All the family fed back that this is the best coffee that they have ever had.I decided to make an espresso. With trepidation I measured the beans, sat and hand ground then, tamped down and timed the weight out ( too much YouTube heehee). An espresso would normally be a step too far for the family as their experiences have always been a dark ashy thick and bitter. I had told of times of old and so passed the cup to the family members. They all said it smelt inviting. I sat down and took my first taste. Wow, it really is a flash back. The coffee is the daylight moment after being in the dark for so long. My childhood came flooding back.My wife tasted this and has said that although she won't be drinking espresso, that it was so flavoursome and 'round' she can see why I'd 'gone on' for so long.My son said 'wow dad, you're right, you can tell the difference, I never thought I'd like an espresso but I think I do.'I must say the coffee is amazing. What you are selling is more than coffee for me. It's a whole set of feelings, memories and emotions plus bloody good coffee.Thank you and I'll be back.My experience with you has been a delight from a good web experience, great options, customer service etcI have tried other roasters, and always come back to Salford Roasters plus now know good v bad coffee.I've tried a number of Salford Roasters beans, the Salfordian and Rialto are devine, Nicaraguan single bean is brilliant and I have recently tried Ugandan, wowzers, l have tried other blends, all very different and Nic is a delight to speak to and be educated by. It truly is a family business and I've been lucky to meet the family and feel part of the SR family.Do pop into the roastery, get a brew, see how it's made and meet the team.Sorry for such a long review but I wanted you to see more than just a transaction takes place sometimes and I am really passionate for good people to be appreciated and succeed.

I've been ordering from Salford Roasters for about half a year now, and I must have tried just about every variety, both single origin and blend, by this point and not a single one has been anything other than truly delightful! I can wholeheartedly recommend picking up a few different varieties just to experience the whole array of flavour profiles on offer. And it's not just the coffee - the customer service is fantastic, with many of my orders over the past few months shipping the same day I ordered it and arriving the next and Nik providing quick responses to email queries. 10/10, I hope to be sourcing my coffee from Salford Roasters for many years to come.

I bought a Ratio Six coffee machine from Salford Roasters after seeing Nik and the team using one at the Manchester Coffee Festival and being really impressed with it. It’s been fantastic, but what’s been even better is the after sales care. The team have given me advice on which filters to buy and tips on ratios, grind size and how to adjust for different roasts. I’ve been so impressed I’ve just signed up for the coffee subscription, so I always have great coffee to hand. Thanks Salford Roasters.

Been a customer of Salford Roasters since they were first established. Their coffee is amazing and they are always creating new blends and introducing new single origin coffee. All of which have great flavour. Their roast is always consistent and provides a lovely smooth taste which is never over roasted like some other companies. Nik the owner is a great person to buy coffee from and provides a great service. Can’t recommend Salford Roasters enough.
