Coat of Glass | Stained Glass Studio London

I attended a 2 day workshop and loved every minute of it! Stephen was a great teacher - he made me feel at ease very quickly, was very encouraging and enthusiastic. The first day Stephen shows you through the various stages, step by step as you try it yourself on your own bit of work; and the second day he lets you create your own piece as independently as you like (whilst always being there to answer questions, rescue bad soldering etc). I love the stained glass I made, and loved learning a totally new skill. Thoroughly recommend. I'd love to learn to do Tiffany pieces now...I'll be back!

I have done a few workshops at coat of Glass. Stephen is a great teacher and very organised. I loved the workshops and produced some lovely pieces which I am very proud of. The groups are small with lots of individual support. The farm is a lovely setting with a farmers market on Saturday . Parking on local streets at the weekend.

I travelled to London for work and stayed for several days. I wanted an alternative to the usual tourist stuff and searched for workshops ideas. I was drawn to Coat of Glass because it seemed to offer something different. The designs are amazing, there's a wide choice to choose from, even Star Wars stuff! The class was fun and friendly. Stephen was very patient and a great teacher. I never handled glass before so this was new to me but I enjoyed it a lot. I would definitely recommend this class!

My husband and I attended a one day workshop while on holiday in London after receiving some gift vouchers. It was really interesting. Stephen was friendly and made us feel at ease instantly. The workshop was fun and we enjoyed interacting with other people during the course as well as spending time at the farm, which makes a great location. We absolutely recommend Coat of Glass!

I have done the workshop twice already and I'm going to go for the third time soon. Stephen is very professional and his classes are always fun to attend. I love my 2 beautiful artworks and cannot wait to do many more.

Took a full day class here for a hen do; Stephen and Erika were very accommodating and helpful throughout the organisation phase, which definitely took the pressure off. The day itself was lovely; everyone had a great time and came away with some lovely pieces, despite our relative lack of experience. Stephen was a great teacher; friendly and instructive. Erika was even kind enough to take pictures for us. Would highly recommend.

Stephen is a very inspiring teacher, I had a great time during the workshop and I managed to make a really nice panel (if I say so myself ;D) despite not having handled glass before!The new venue at Mudchute farm is really charming, Stephen and his team did a great job turning the studio into a very cosy colourful room.I'll be going back this year for sure :)

I've been at the workshop early this summer, I have to admit that I wasn't sure I would be able to cut glass and do something with it, but immediately Stephen made me feel comfortable in using the tools and handling the glass by showing me how easy it is to play with it even though you need to be focused in what you're doing!I had so much fun, I completed a wonderful piece of art that I proudly keep showing off to my friends! It was a very nice experience and I like the vibes that Stephen has for this art! I will definitely go back and do an advanced workshop!I highly recommend Coat of Glass, Its fun, do it!

Absolutely loved it!I have been twice now as I absolutely loved the relaxed way Stephen teaches and coming away with something beautiful for my house. The first time I visited I took my mum for her birthday and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a full on day and you one away exhausted but with such a sense of achievement. We just sat at home with a cup of tea staring at our art work raving about what a great day we had.The studio is easy to get to by tube. It’s cute that it is based in the city farm as that is also a treat to enjoy on your day. The cafe were a bit moody and not great at customer service but that is t actually part of the stained glass school so don’t count them in on your choice of whether to book a course with Coat Of Glass or not. Just maybe take packed lunches and only head to the cafe for hot drinks.The second time I visited We went as a group for a surprise birthday for my step mum. We all had a great day again. The choice of patterns and materials available is brilliant and more than you could have imagined.I definitely recommend you trying Coat Of Glass if this is your first session as Stephen is a great teacher and makes the whole learning process unstressful, easy going and fun.I will definitely be returning!
